EDIT: ****Post pics and descriptions of your lost pets here for all to see(dog,cat,turtle.etc....)*****

This week I had to make the terrible choice to put my best friend in the world down! The last 2 weeks have been hard on me watching my dog Livingston battle with nerve sheath cancer. First it took away is left side and then eventually his walking(not to mention he was allready blind). I spend days carrying him in and out of the house to do his thing. I did everthing I could 4 days of vet hospital, MRI's and tests after tests only to find out it's un-operatable:-(
He was family to us (me and my wife) not to mention the son of my champion frisbee dog who passed in 2003 so I watched the end of 2 generations!

I'll never forget my little buddy who only got 9 great years on this earth! He never let anything get to him even though he couldn't see he had special noise balls that he could find and even catch in the air! He was a tough S.O.B. running in to and falling off things for the past 4 years!

Even as I type this I have a tear running down my face!

Very sorry for your loss. A dog is truly a mans best friend, so loyal and always happy. Just remember the good times man, he will always be with you.

So sorry for the loss of your friend Mica. I had to put one dog down once but but it was when my second dog died from getting hit by a truck that hurt the most. He and I were best friends and he went everywhere with me.

Hang in there, time will heal and soon you will be able to remember the good times with a smile. 8)

Sooy to hear your loss,We didn't do JD (our friend) right,he had cancer and we kept thinking he was better and he finely died in our arms suffering.he too was a great frind and would do anything for me,just wish I had did him right.
Time will pass and you will remember the good times. At least you did him right. "thumbsup"

That sucks man. I've lost 4 in the last 5 years, it never gets easier. One of them went blind before we lost him and it was really hard to watch, he didn't adjust well.

Good news is I only remember the good times anymore. It takes time, and I do still miss all of them, but I've got lots of great memories, like I know you will.

Sorry for your loss, I feel your pain. I lost my Chessie 2yrs ago. She was my best friend in the whole world. Had her since she was 6 months old and she passed away at 7yrs and I still dont have a clue why she passed away. I still miss her so much that I still get a tear in my eye (like now) when I think about her. We had alot of good times and I'll never forget her.

Sorry for your loss, it is hard to lose a dog. When my childhood boxer passed I cried in my sleep for months. It takes courage to put him down but it is for the best, no soul deserves to suffer.

sorry to hear this, its a hard thing to have to decide on...

i had to make the same choice for my doig a few years ago, was the hardest thing iv ever had to do. i had him since he was about 6 months old and he made it till almost 16.. till one day he lost his footing comeing up the stairs :(

but like any loss its alot better to remember all the good times you had with him rather then remembering his failing health.

before I read it & saw your dog, I only saw the top of the recliner & thought you were letting the recliner go.
Sorry about your dog. I know it will be extremely tough when I have to go through it. Every time I look at my dogs makes me wish that it will never happen, & how f'd up people are that do bad things to dogs. They really grow on you and are a big part of the family, too bad they don't live as long as humans.
I don't care what kind of dog you have, they will grow on you. About 2 1/2 years ago my gf told me she was getting a chiauhua puppy from our friends mom. We argued about it for a couple of weeks cause I didn't want a small dog. Now we have two of them & they never leave me alone, pretty much wherever I am they are. I will get my big dog one day, these little one are cool to be around except when the damn doorbell rings.

That sucks.

Just lost one of ours as well back in January. Still miss him dearly.

What a great looking dog he was! He had those eyebrows like my dog did!

Here is my Cassie girl, she died last year when I was headed out to Moab. Really hurt still does. There is a particular member here on RCC that thought it was real cute and funny to stab at me with a blow about her. Your still the top worthless piece of shit to me for that, not even worthy of being an asshole.

Anyways, Cassie RIP

Sorry for your lose man:cry:

As a kid we had a rottie named Garth. He was a great friend. He was big enough that I could ride him like a horse. He was always willing to put himself in harms way to protect myself and two younger sisters. He is buried at my parents place.

My own kids are now three, twin boys. They are ready to get a dog and I hope we can find one as good as Garth.

Oh man 666 she was a beautiful dog, I love Shepherds. My uncles dog looked like her a bit, just a bit more brown in her coat. He had to put her down a few years ago because of the arthritis she had in her hips, so much so she could barely walk, she was going blind. I still miss her to this day.
