I got a Duratrax intellipeak mini pulse charger and this thing is pissin me off!!!

It wont stay on peak charge for about two minuets then it switches back to slow charge. I have to sit there and keep flipping it back to peak charge a bunch of times before the 3000mah batteries I use are charged. And when I say a bunch of times, I mean a bunch. it takes all damn day for this thing to fully charge my battery. I checked the connectors and they seem ok and tight.

I know it isn't the battery because I plugged it into my friends Tekin charger and it charged it right up and seemed to have more power also.

So Is there anything that I could do to this charger to make it stop doing that? I cant put deans on them because Im too scared of voiding my Rooster crawler warranty. Plus the Tamiya connectors seem to be just fine.

Or is this just a crap charger and If so, can you guys tell me what NIMH chargers you have had good luck with and is fairly priced. thanks guys.

i got a pirahna digital peak charger from corey at rpp and it works just fine..

way easy to use and always charges perfect.. $50.00 bucks..

I have had great luck with the hyperion line of chargers. They are 4 button and very easy to use. The 5i version normally runs in the $80 range and will charge nimh, nicad, lipo, and lead acid. You would need a power supply for it. The triton JR. is also a good one, but I dont like the normal triton charger.

i would actally like to try a hyperion myself..

i'm lookin into switching to lipo now that i've got a brushless motor..

Thanks guys, Im gonna look into the Hyperion chargers. they sound promising. Coming from JRH especially. "thumbsup"

I have the 959. I just have to make sure to push the start button to end the charging cycle. If I unplug the battery without doing that I get that famous ERROR message.

I think Im gonna have to skip out on the Hyperion charger for now. after you factor in the charger, power supply and wall plug I am in well over my budget.

The 5i with AC/DC power built in runs about the same, along with most other similar chargers that I am aware of in the market. The jump from $50 chargers really lands around the $120 range with power supply no matter how it is sliced right now. In another year maybe the price will drop.

maybe a charger that only charges NIMH, I have no plans of running lipos. I think im gonna try that Piranha charger that corey has. After reading the specs and features and the positive review by soloman, It seems to be right up my ally. Price wise also.
