Greasing my Capra

If you need to squeeze through some tight gaps I would.

I lube the moving parts on mine with a silicone based lubricant and try to avoid heavier grease because it's a double edged sword - lubricates, but attracts and holds sand, which wears down parts...vicious cycle lol.

Not a bad idea to lube the diff gears from time to time, good time to inspect them while you have it apart. Not super familiar with Capra but most of the bearings on my rigs are sealed so would not benefit from greasing other than aforementioned sand attraction.

Just rinsing off and blowing the motor out with compressed air/keeping things generally clean seems to keep my rigs in decent working condition. Sure others will chime in but I do believe there's a tipping point with maintenance on these things, they are toys...no zirc fittings like a 1:1, no diff fluid, no t-case fluid...kind of not a lot to 'maintain' and all of the parts eventually just wear out no matter what you do to them.

Do I need to grease my rig?

Is it a kit or RTR?

My RTR was bone dry everywhere and very noisy. Have heard the same with others that got RTRs.

Took apart and greased the portals, diffs and trans. HUGE difference.
