grizzly bear charge

meh he never even got close. ended his charge 30' away. just snooping around checking out the weird cluster of mint green colored humans.

I've been in Alaska fishing the rivers, seeing the bears...it's a different experience. Between the four of us we had two S&W500s and two 44 mags...still eerie. I kept one hand on the holster at all times! :ror:

Not even close.....my ass!!!, before he even turned around was too close for me. I guess your supposed to stay still when a grizzly comes running at you??? Hell my ass would be running for the closest car & hope I could out run the rest:flipoff:

mint green colored humans:lmao:

Two things- You know what they say about Alaska, once you step out of your vehicle, you enter the food chain. Also, You don't have to be faster than the bear, just faster than one other person. I'm not real fast, but I'll knee cap somebody of I got too.

Something seems off in the video, maybe because the earlier part was cut off. Usually bears will show other signs of being upset; scratching at the ground, head waving, grunting noises before doing false charges. This one seemed to get scared off by something on the other side of the bushes, ran towards the tourists and then stopped again, almost looking back over his shoulder to see if whatever scared him is following him.

In any case, the people did the right thing, assuming they left the area right after this happened. I've had numerous bear encounters from doing lots of field work in the north and on the west coast. False charges are damn scary (as in check your shorts afterwards), but as they say, false. Unless you're in the way of the bear's food or cubs, you'll usually come out safe.

Best way to stop a bear from charging......take away it's credit/debit cards......sigh."thumbsup""thumbsup"

No, false charge or not, I would not be pleased having something that big heading my way...even if I could outrun the person next to me.

haha are you kidding..they can run about 30mph..your not outrunning a grizzly
i would of not been to comfortable in that situation:shock: but if you run they will chase you and take you down..you the guy who ran..lol
i,ve been pretty close to a juvenile black bear which was kinda scary as momma probably was not far away but the bear wasnt too interested in me..weve had black bears appear at one of our comps but they stayed in the brush area and away from the rocks..which is good..lol there would of been a very uncerimoius scattering of people had they got closer
