Grob's AR60 build

DkFWJrO.jpeg

Before a decent update, mailman delivered plenty of goodies that need installed

I believe I have the front end where I want it

Biggest visual change was the swapping of the hardware in favor of anodized aluminum bits. The rigidity could be a concern, but I have lotsa stainless on standby for when I start actually running this rig.

Also installed a NSDRC RS800 V2 servo and a 27mm Monster horn. The horn doesn't look like it should clear the upper links, but lock to lock it's completely contact free

The upper links are 3/16" titanium from Dlux fab. In order to get the pinion angle where I wanted it, and to clear the spur gear, I used the longer rod ends from my original links.

The front shocks got modded further, with the installation of medium Dlux springs, no pre load Dlux retainers, and about 8mm of internal limiting. I had to dremel the plastic part of the shock body where the top of the spring sits in order to get these springs to sit correctly

Now, onto the rear

So this sat for awhile... (Most of my rigs sit around)

The NSDRC servo got pulled for a different rig, but I have plans to replace it with an NSDRC low profile unit at some point.

The skid is still a problem. Not having design skills or a 3D printer has me making things like a caveman with mostly hand tools and while it seems to work, I know it could be better

In an attempt to not have to re-make this skid (again) I bought the smallest motor I could find. This will allow me to move the trans back where I want it and get it bolted in proper. I'm not a smart man, so this ESC should be interesting

Anybody have any experience with this ESC?

New NSDRC servo is in the mail

I got to playing around with this ESC a bit and I think I'm gonna like it! VERY powerful and VERY quiet. Gonna hafta shorten some motor leads... but I luckily am not planning on messing with the onboard BEC thanks to a direct-power servo. Which reminds me that I'll have to add a power tap of some sort (hopefully I still have some JST plugs somewhere)

I decased and heat-shunk an old Spektrum SR3100 I had kicking around and servo-taped it to the ESC

Big changes happenend to the chassis but that's another post

Update when I get the servo in, make some progress, and have some free time

That's a cool looking rig!

I only tested my Sequre ESCape32 ESC in the house, but I really like it so far.

Been awhile since I last updated... I suck at documenting builds, I get too into making things work and forget pictures

New NSDRC hotness in the form of an RS700V2 (low profile) limited edition (red anodized) with a matching horn

It's like they knew I needed a JST plug!

I finally got around to ordering a few red anodized nuts, and decided to keep the servo mounts and battery mount from DLUX. Doing that caused the upper links to come in contact with the top of the servo case and I wasn't having it. I whipped up a simple link mount from some scrap plastic at work and everything seems to clear. It's not the prettiest, but without a 3d printer it was the best I could come up with

I'll update soon, once I get everything back together and show off my hacked-up chassis. Hopefully the weather wont be too brutal for some outdoor pics

Back to messing with this rig. Hoping to have it functional and on the rocks pulling some lines once the weather warms up

I was never fond of what I had goin on with the front upper links. The multi-color didn't do it for me and I knew I could do better.

Locked-Up RC to the rescue! Their threaded posts were just what I needed!

Once built, they came-out a scosche shorter which has proven to be benificial. I used the same Axial ends and put the bends towards the transmission.

I then zip-tied a piece of lexan on the front uppers to act as an electronics mount
