Ive searched the web with no solid results. I recently aquired an world war 1 mauser. Im looking for a new stock for it and cant figure out what style stock it will fit

the bottom bolt length is 7 7/8"
and the receiver is 1 3/8"

so I think its a large ring according to chart I have found but all the stocks that I look at for large ring mausers are for models like the 98 that have a curved bolt lever

on the side of the action it says

modelo 1912
Steyr Austria

but I cant find any information, If someone could help me with what model it is or lead me in the right direction to figuring it out would be a great help

You should keep that rifle the way it is. Don't re-blue it, don't change the stock. Just give it a good cleaning. It will keep it's value the way it is. If you must change the stock I think all you will find for it is a Monte Carlo stock.....

There were only about 38,000 of them made. What length barrel does it have? What are the #'s on the bolt? I can give you more info on it if you can tell me more..... I have a book on them here....

bolt # 207

barrel appear to be 28 1/2"

do you have the name of said book, I would like to invest in it. my brother and I both have mausers and one of my fathers friends is a gun dealer and has 3 crates of different mausers that are still in oil rags that I can get for cheap:mrgreen:

7.62 or 7mm? And it should be 29".... It's called "The Steyr M1912 Chilean Mauser" guide....

I have one as well. Did a bit of research when I got it from my grandfather.....

The value really depends on the model and barrel and #'s.....

Do you see "SR" stamped on it anywhere on the bolt or receiver? Is it stamped in white? Your gun should have been made between 1912-1914. I still narrowing yours down, I think I have it down between 2 models....

So yours is the 7mm long then....getting closer"thumbsup"

yup my brother has a 30-06 mauser but its not the same model as the one I have"thumbsup"

how much would you charge me to photo copy your mauser guide and mail it to me?

any other information you need?

That would take a while to do:ror: Let me check with my FFL dealer, he might have one I could snag for a few buck....
