The first does look like a bad boy. One of those "bad boy" guys that is bent over wearing leathers with no *** while being whipped by another guy in leathers and wearing a black mask. And if the H3 looks even more gay than that, it is truly hard to imagine.

As far as offroading capability? Most honda civics have more ground clearance than the H2's do. The H3 looks like it has a bit taller.

i'd drive either if it was given to me, and i'd drive it straight to the jeep dealer. ;-)

I drove the h3 well not really but the envoy we have is build on the same frame as the h3. also the escalade we had I think was the same frame as the h2.

H2's & H3's = 3/4 ton GM truck platform. We(Hackster and myself) saw a downed H2 up in TSF a few weeks ago while out wheelin'.. poor thing used it's OnStar to call for a tow truck, damn good thing I wouldn't have to pay for that tow bill..... middle of the woods, 60+ miles from the nearest dealership would equal big bucks. There looked to be no cosmetic damage either, while hackster plowed his SAS Toy into a couple trees and blew a clutch line. We fixed the Toy with ease.

I don't know about civics having more clearance but the Volkswagon ToeRag does have more clearance then a H2.

I've wheeled with a few H2 owners, wheeled with a G500 and a cayenne once as well.
I'd wheel the piss out of an H2 or an h3 if I were given one.... The roof would see
more ground than the tires....

hmm well ones a bloated overweight tahoe and the other is an even fuglier version of the already ugly Colorado so I'm gona go with both of them **** donkeys for quarters.

i think the Hummer H3 looks pretty cool:

it's lighter than the H2 and has a diesel + 5 speed. i likey

they all suck.

The original Hum Vee was created to do one thing well......that one thing was to drive behind tanks, hence their incredible center clearance. Tanks make large and deep tracks and the HumVee could easily drive behind in the sandy areas of the middle east, where volatility had been brewing for years. They were also built wide for this reason, which allowed them to side hill very well but some learned very quickly that the massive weight of the rig would only give way to gravity in the sand and slide uncontrollablly, not being helped by the terrible suspension design.
The new breed of "Hummers" are a joke! They are built from GM2500 pick up truck chassis' and are nothing more than a glorified yuppie pick up with a locking diff. They are not capable on the trail. They are too big and clumbsy. They are ugly. They are under powered. They only seat 6 people. You have no vision of the road from the cab. Terrible gas mileage. Way over priced. No re-sale value. And.....you'd have to wear a bag over your head while driving because they are an embarrassment to yourself if you own one.

Other than that....I love them!
