Haastnooit's Y-town Crawlers BJ4

I am a RCC member for quit a while, but never started a thread about one of my rigs. Most of the time on the board I spend reading the incredible builds to try and learn from the more experienced and pro drivers .... <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

But to get some tips and pointers to improve your rig, people gots to know how it is setup .... So below a few pics of my truck and a laydown of the parts I used. I finished the BJ4 late februari this year, but still looking to improve my setup !!

Total RTR weight during this ride was 2495 gram (5.5 lbs). For now I am looking in to change the stock XR shocks for some bigbores.

I guess there are going to be a bit more changes than just shocks ... couldn't hold back anymore and put in a few orders yesterday evening and this morning .... Not gonna tell anymore cause it is a SECRET

looks great. I'm still running the BJ4 chassis and i think that it can hang with any SA or switch, swap, sniper out there if set up right!

Thanks concrete "thumbsup" I agree, performance wise I did not have to change a thing, the worst part of my total setup still is driver skills ... :ror:

Usually I am always one or a couple steps behind the evolution of what I call "the TEMPTOP crawlers chassis". When I finally stepped up to buy the Fastback chassis for my AX10 it was no longer being made, luckely Juan came out with the FB2 and I was one of the first run of 25. Then I got me the XR, drove stock chassis for a year. And when everybody else already was into the CF, I went ahead and bought a delrin BJ4 ..... :lmao:

So this time I decided to stay in closer track, and be right in the middle of the total CF revolution in crawlin' "thumbsup"

A lot of things changed:
- bigbores with Dlux standoffs, JD cups and Losi springs
- stock XR10 axles, all VP stuff is off, accept knuckles and bushings
- clocked the axles
- modded Chubs for extra caster
- Tekin 55T motors
- Savox 1256tg servo (20kg)
- Egressed servomount
- modded VP knuckleweights (baseweight now 65gr)
- CC Ti bent steering tierod
- shaved Rovers

RTR: 2205 gram (4.86 lbs)

have you change your foam combo in your rover after you shaved the sidewalls ?? I think I need to try it :)

Thank you. No, still the same foams ...

So far I only did some minor testing (on incline board) to see how the shaved Rover would roll on sidehills. Results seemed to be OK, I guess the shedded weight has someting do with that. Next week I am going to give them a real testrun ... "thumbsup"

Rig looks set up good. Looks killer all black great choice on rims, one thing you could do is drill multiple holes in the center to lighten them some.

Yes, she drives very well and looks great doing it  Nah, I will let the VP rims as is, don't have the guts for that mod. No need to either cause the BJ is going to be my secondary crawler soon .... Just finished gathering parts for a lightweight SA3.5 build.

Thanks for that!

What springs are you using?

MiniT front pink ;-)

"thumbsup" correct, partnumber is LOSB1117

Mini T springs.... Well I'll be!

Thanks for the help! Back to the thread!

This rig looks sweet! I'll be following this thread closely!
