Quarry Creeper
I wanted to start a thread of my own to share my progress and have a place to ask questions. I'm new to the world of crawling so at times you might have to bear with me.
I'm still waiting on a few parts but here's an update a to where I'm at thus far.
Got it for Christmas.
Painted it, and slapped on a hitec7954 servo that I plan to power with a CCBEC...pretty standard stuff.
For an esc I chose a Tekin B1R and a losi insane motor...wow these things are TINY!
Did a lot of messing around with electronics placement trying to keep things as neat and tidy as possible...this is in process.
Made a little plate to Velcro my batt to. I ordered a couple 1000mah turnigy batts that I plan on sticking to this little guy. My thought was it would offset the weight I the motor and be fairly low. Also giving me good run times for screwing around and testing.
I've since seen that 1000mah is a huge battery! I WILL make sure my batt leads are long enough to run a smaller lipo on the front axle if I ever decide to comp or find that it's too much weight too far back.
The batt plate only weighs 2 grams so it shouldn't hurt leaving it there if I end up switching from axle to chassis for battery placement.
Powder coated it flat black
I shortened up the wires on the BEC and servo and crimped on new ends. This removed 17" of excess wire and should hopefully make things fit a little better/cleaner.
This is what I've got thus far. Could be better but I've seen worse too. I like to be average
I plan on running stock for a time an slowly upgrading. I have already begun to aquire upgrades and it is killing me not to throw them on, but I want to be able to appriciate what each upgrade gains me so I am going to try and add them slowly with a lot of testing in between.
