Hard Plastic Bodies

Hello, I plan on getting one of the new axial scx10 scale kits and would like to put a hard plastic body on it, but i don't know where to get one or what to take one off of? Thanks for the help.

I have seen people using bodies from cheap RC cars like the kind you buy from Toys R Us. Just make sure it is the proper scale.

This is a little off from a true hard body but it's worth a try for something in between a hardbody and lexan. I brush Elmer's Ultimate on lexan. It hardens and keeps the lexan body from tearing while still flexing slightly.

ok ya that seems like a good idea, do you apply it to the inside or the outside of the body and how does the finish come out?

I brush it on the inside after the paint is completely dry. I use both Pactra paint and the Parma Fascolor, and it hasn't done anything to ruin the finish yet. Ultimate dries like expanding foam only it dosen't expand so quite so much. It it will expand out of your mounting holes and a little over the edges. If you leave the overspray film on the excess Ultimate will peel off with the film. You might need to take a dremel or sand the edges a little.

The FJ in the picture is from a RC vehicle from BigK for $25. The same price as a clear lexan shell. The box said it was 1/12th scale. It is a little small for the Scorpion. It is supposed to go on a Wheely King project.
