Hey All,

I am in Hawaii visiting my Dad for a couple of weeks and I am looking for some good Honolulu RC shops. I am having trouble finding them online them. I have been to Aloha Hobbies a couple times. I am wondering if there are any Crawler specific shops on Oahu? Also I heard there is a drifter type store out in Pearl Ridge?

Any information you can provide would be great"thumbsup"

As far as a Crawler specific shop we have none. I would say to check out (not in any order) R/C Motorsports Hawaii (RCMH #949-4949) for some crawler stuff and they also support drifting with an indoor carpet drift track. Aslo Hobbitat #737-9582, Sandy Flemings Fast Elec Tricks #456-7272 and Aloha Hobbies. The others I say enter at your own risk !?!?!?!?! (hehehe just not a big fan of them)

Good luck on the never ending hunt for parts."thumbsup"

BTW if your also into on-road grip racing, we have a scheduled race this weekend on Sunday July 27th at the Sandy Flemings parking lot. Check it out for some racing action.

Thanks for the reply! Those were pretty much the only 4 that I could really find information about. I will go and check them out.

I assume by Grip racing you mean that the cars aren't drifting right? Just normal sedan racing?

Thanks,

Daniel

Correct

At OCS we race 1/10th touring cars, 1/10th Trans Am (spec class with vintage rims/tires and late 60s bodies), 1/10th Mini (M03/M04 or 4wd) and 1/12th pan.

Hope you can make out too for some racing action.

Aloha"thumbsup"

BTW if you are still here, the following week August 3rs, HRCC also have a scheduled comp that I'm sure your welcome too check our or even be part of.

Hey,

I went out to aloha hobbies and looked around yesterday. I also tried to go to RC Motorsports, but I couldn't find it?? I drove up and down Lehua a couple times but could not find it. I tried calling them but no one answered. Also is Sandy Fleming's a nice shop? I might check that out tomorrow!

Thanks for all the help,

~ Daniel

Oh and I am unfortunantly leaving town before your crawler comp :( i wish I could have been there

RCMH is usually open in the afternoon to late night. They are directly accross from the Zippy's down on King St. on the 2nd floor.

Sorry to hear that you will not be able to make it you HRCC’s comp. I’m sure you would have had a good time with a bunch of good guys and gals.

As far as RCMH, yes they are a little tricky to find for the first timer. I’ll try my best to guide you to them. RCMH's address is 1742 South King Street located on the second floor of the building above a Japanese restaurant on the corner of South King and Pawaa Lane. You turn left off of S. King (stop light fronting Zippy’s restaurant on the right and RHCM's building) onto Pawaa Lane and the parking is behind the building on the left and the entrance door is on the corner fronting S. King Street. Hope this helps. In face theye will be open tonight till around mid night with an open track for drifting. I'm planning of checking them out tonight in hopes of posting a few OCS flyers. "thumbsup"

And as far as Sandy Flemings, Dave has been around our hobby for ages (no pun intended) and knows his R/C stuff and IMO he is a nice guy."thumbsup"

Aloha

Hey,

So I found it the other day and had a long chat with the owner. It was a great place"thumbsup" He was very friendly and I bought a RC18R from him.

The reason I couldn't find it was becuase I searched for it on mapquest. It told me that it was located out in Pearl city at some odd addressee. So I drove way out there and up and down some street when it was located 5 minutes from my dads building.

Mahalo,

Daniel

Daniel, i must've just missed you.
Earl and Charlie mentioned that someone had stopped by and purchased the 18R. Wow if i had known that you were coming i would of set up a get together so you could meet all of the HRCC folks too.. oh man my bad.
is there gonna be a next time? or are you still here?

Hey,

No problem. I am just checking out the local RC zone over here. As I mentioned before my dad lives over here and I am considering UH for college. I still have another year of high school though. I might come check out one of your drifting nights (Tuesdays and Thursday's I believe???)

I was busy with family last night so I missed the drifting action ;(

One more thing, when is Sandy Fleming's open? I have been calling them the last three days in a row and no one is answering.

I think Flemings is not open Mon, Tues, Wed? It is usually best to call after 2pm.

KAIKS look into getting the ARTR version(orange one), the RTR may be complete but a lot of it's parts are junk.
