Headphone listeners

I can see this new addiction getting worse right before my eyes.

I just bought some new IEMs for $7.11 plus shipping which put them at $8.99

I got them from Monoprice, which has extraordinarily cheap pricing on decent quality stuff, especially cables.

For only $6.06 each when QTY 50+ purchased - Enhanced Bass Hi-Fi Noise Isolating Earphones | EarPhones

For nine bucks who can resist? Though I care not for the "enhanced bass" part, I can deal with it, especially if I use the EQu app on the Touch. I got these for work, as I'm trying to drown out as much outside noise as possible, while still sounding decent, and costing as little as possible.

As of yesterday when I ordered around 7 pm EST, there were 203 in stock, now there's only 146. New flavor of the month over on head-fi.
not a fan of earbuds but might be worth a try..might be good for bikeing, i went for a ride last night in our first snow of the year and my full sized headphone got a bit more wet than they should, probably no time to wait for your review at the speed they are selling

Typically the Skullcandy brand gets bad reviews, but for ten dollars their in ear Jib is worth a shot also. I got mine at a Target, but I'm not sure if America junior has Target stores? And in my opinion the Jib doesn't really sound all that great, but it's comfortable and noise isolating.

lol target will be here soon if not allready in some places, i have seen the skullcandy at some retailers here, the ones i spotted were in the 50$ range i just gave a quick scan so there probably were cheaper sets...maybee worth a second look "thumbsup" thanx

I'm no expert and I've been into the sauce but here's my take:

I bought a set of Sure ear buds with the different foam or rubber ear set deals for on the road. They are not noise canceling but you can't hear shit even when music isn't playing. Decent bass for buds. They are comfortable and good sound. I have a pair of bose head phones for at work which are pretty kick ass. A little more costly than the sure but are comfortable and sound good.

The last set of speakers I bought for the home stereo were Kef, the thin 1" thick dealios, and wow, they sound awesome.

Yeah, I know! But they're something weird, called an armature driver.

There's top of the line in ears that have 16 drivers!

Jerry Harvey Audio JH16 Pro | HeadRoom Audio

JH Audio JH16PRO is yet another audio innovation from balanced armature king Jerry Harvey. Double dual (four) low-frequency, single dual midrange, and single dual tweeter driver arrays featuring 3-way integrated crossovers delivers vast headroom (!) and deep musical punch with full acoustic impact for a very sweet 16 indeed. Yep, you read that right: 16 tuned drivers, 1 custom in-ear headphone full of audiophile wonder and delight.

And they are top of the line in every regard.

any opinions on the sennheiser CX200 in ears? newegg has them for 14.99 with free shipping, says regular price is 49.99. is this a deal, or should i just stick with my cheapo skull candy in ears?

edit: nevermind, read the reviews and i think i will stick with my skull candy

I've got a question for you guys, I found these in a box tonight and wondered if there was a way to straighten them out and replace the dry rotted ear foams. They still work just as good now as they did when I bought them (in'98 I think.....), but would hate to gave to get rid of them for the above reasons.

So I got the new pair of in ears yesterday. I must say that these are pretty impressive. Make the pretty freaking! impressive! Soon as I got them I put on some white noise for 90 minutes then had a listen. I never noticed the reverberation of the rim shot on the snare drum in a song I heard many times. Instantly I took them off and put em back on the white noise for two more hours. Got home and had only a few minutes before company came over but again, the ability to hear waaaay back there in the recording stood out.

Just opened me a good Lagunitas beer and plugged em into the headphone amp and I'm gonna rock the night away.

very new to the audio world, and i think i found a new crack.....

i picked up a pair of auvio 33-279 concert class headphones as a way to block out the outside world (severe anxiety disorder) and being that this is the first set i've spent over 20 dollars on, i'm solidly impressed at the sound, even though i know they are nowhere near the best or even middle of the road out there.

now i have a couple questions as a beginner, one being an amp. in the minimal readings i have done, an amp is recommended as an immediate purchase, and that brought me to a google search of the fiio e5 i believe (the 20 dollar one). next question is: what is a good upgrade from what i have currently? its a bit daunting for me to figure out exactly what is worth every penny, and what is overpriced. with both questions, quality at a decent price is desired, i fully understand you get what you pay for, but that doesn't help me dish out 250 on headphones.

i would normally say smartass, but i have a fear of modrage

edit: just saw your edit....i may not sleep for a few days

edit one more time: looking at the superlux hd-668 b's heavily now, haven't really found a review highly against them for anything other than they're not bomb proof, and since i rarely leave the farm, out in public use will be about nil, so should hold up well. thoughts eeepee? they are on the recommended list on head-fi and the user reviews are great for the price point.

are there any decent headphones/headsets/IEM's that are around $50? i splurged on a pair of skull candy ones today that cost $50 but they don't sound any different than the $10 skull candy ones i already have. i prefer in ears, but i'm not completely opposed to full headphones. i have glasses and my ears are stretched to 2 inches, so over the ear headphones don't cancel out much noise. i am going to return these tomorrow "thumbsup"

one with a mic is preferred, but not necessary. i do want something with a good low end since i listen to a lot of dub step.

I seemed to have missed this post, and no I don't have any thoughts on those. I think the dude on Headfonia.com liked them, he has a better point of reference than I do. He gets lots of shit to hear, I don't.

Here's the link: Superlux HD 668B: A Giant Killer? | Headfonia

I guess if I did share some thoughts about those I'd say as I acquire more and more headphones, I feel I can conclude that cheap sets also sound cheap. Besides a clarity, there's also a definition that the more expensive headphones have that the cheaper ones just don't posses. Things really can start to sound pretty real as you go up the ladder. How much that matters to you is up to your wallet.
