i'm looking to build a 2.2 i'm new to the crawling world but not to rc. I bought a nylint a few months back and it's done it's job of making me want to get into the sport but it's time for it to go. I don't really know where to begin on this one with chassis choice? i've seen some nice builds with stock tlt chassis but they look really low to me. I'd like it to still be capable but not to small and I want a solid drive train no belts ect (tlt), so I was hoping to be able to put in a pede tranny. I posted a ad in the wanted section for a 2.2 and was offered a tracer chassis but i'm veering away from it b/c of stock tlt trans and i've read nothing but bad things about the dogbone issues with it. ANY HELP!! WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!.

Thanks
Darin.

well you could always go ahead and cut a few inches off the bottom of the stock TLT chassis. But do you want scale, or comp? Or a mix in between? If so i'd go with a K2-3S, if you want something VERY capable go with a pimp slap, SW2, Vertical Smile, etc
If you want scale go with a BB-51 (good performing chassis and the finish is AWESOME) CSC-1, K2-3L, K2-3S, etc. Good luck choosing.

Please tell the fine gentleman you just gave advice to how many of the items you listed above that you have actually had in your own two hands, please?

yea i'm really aiming in between with semi scale yet still pretty capable but doesnt need to be comp. something like sw2 or scale chassis on crawler store looks like alot of diversity.

This should be in the newbie section and it's been covered.

With that said what do you want to do with the rig (as noted above)

it sounds like you are wanting a Plate type chassis. And TD06 has allready mintioned, you have a lot to choose from.

If you read the stickies at the top of each section you'll get a better idea of what you would like to run, maybe look at the pics of different rigs, do a little searching.

We can help you if you help us.
