Help what am I missing with winch

I have a tf2 with a rc4wd winch and a spektrum rugged radio. Everything is new and trying to set things up. If I plug the winch in it has constant power pulling the line in. I have it plugged in aux1. I’ve tried to program button f to control it and can’t get to to work. If I go into aux assign in the menu it shows

3-pos
Cyclic
Inhibit
Momentary
Active
I think I have it programmed right but if I plug the winch in it spools in and the f button doesn’t control it at all. Stumped on this any help would be greatly appreciated

No I have the winch wired directly in the rx

You need a winch controller. Unless the winch has one built in.
