I have a 1500mah 3s Zippy lipo. When i connect it to my charger is only recognises 2 cell. Any idea why this would be? The pack has only been run once, and i do have the esc set to cut off at 9v.
Are you using a balance charger, with the balance plug connected as well as the main power leads? If you are only using the main power leads, the pack is faulty or over-discharged. You might be able to recover it with a different charger.
If you are using the balance lead, does the charger recognise a different 3s pack correctly?
Assuming the charger is OK, most likely is a damaged balance lead. Check the terminals on the balance plug with a volt meter. Put the negative probe at one end of the plug and the positive on the next contact. You should see between 3.3 and 4.2 volts. Leave the negative probe where it is and move the positive along to the next contact. The reading should be 2x the first reading. Again, leave the negative probe and move the positive to the last terminal - reading should be 3x the first reading.
If any reading is low, it's a faulty cell. If any reading shows no change or zero, it's a faulty balance connector or lead.
most likely...you need to remove the pin, on the end by itself (black wire), and move it over one hole to the empty hole. plug that in to the 3s balance tab from the charger, and you'll be off and running
