Hera revisited

H
The first CC BEC showed up
I plan to get a second
Waiting on 2 BEC bypass wires from Creation Fab.

She's coming together!

Why are you not just running the 2 bec direct to the servo's?

Letting the BEC of the esc power everything else?

that's the plan, one BEC for each steering servo. "thumbsup"

why do you need bypass wires from Creation Fab?

There is a very simple why to achieve this.

This is all you need newbie

Y Splitter Cable 12"

I am thinking of using a Y-Splitter so ch 4 controls the 2 speed shifting servo and the flip up lights servo... I think that'd be cool if the lights are tied into the gear selection
And neither of those 2 servos require high voltage... or are very important to the trucks ability to compete.

so I don't have to cut up all the wires... that's all.

Nope you do nothing. PLug and play. You need one for each servo BEC combo.

Plug the servo in leaving all three wire, Plug the BEC in using all three wires.

Only run the one wire to the receiver on the back end. Simple

Hera

Well Hera ran her first comp yesterday on our rock course.
She was on fire... literally!

She was killing it, crab walking between gates, muscling over obstacles, the 4ws led to very few reverses... and then she caught fire at gate 7 of 10!

I felt a slight loss in power from the front servo and then smoke from the rear. One of my CC 10 amp BECs had a melt down.

I tied for fourth, considering most of us DNF... not a bad position. If I can get her sorted before the next comp I'm pretty confidant she'll finish the season strong...

The suspension was working great... better than I expected, the turning radius is insane and she has more than enough power. All in all, I'm very happy with the build. Hera surprised me a few times yesterday... I kept thinking she was gonna roll or not hook up but she kept it planted.

I still have to thoroughly go through the electronics but as of now I think I lost both BECs and my front servo.

Castle said to send them in, it sounds like they will replace both of them... I'm still out a servo though.

JRH recommended running one 20amp Pro BEC in place of the two 10 amps... so, if CC replaces them I guess they'll go up for sale.

So voltage must be the power level while amperage is the capacity...? Do you simply split off power after the larger BEC and run to both servos?

A few shots from today's gtg. Hera ran well but needs tweaking.
I think I'll shorten the wb .25" and add some more wheel weight.
I was getting hung up a lot of places that Buxom Melons could clear before.

My gearing seems good, the 14t Puller temp hit 127 on 6s after after a long run that ended with a full throttle 2nd gear hill climb. I checked it several times throughout the day, average temp was below 120.

We did a lot of loose dirt, impossible hill climbing today...
I may drop the pinion down to 11t from 13t for a tad more torque in 2nd gear.
The wheel speed was more than enough so I think it'll be fine and then I can honestly say "This one goes to 11" "thumbsup"
