Hera revisited

No pics today but I've got the new rings installed.
I realized I need to shorten my winch line before Saturdays TTC. It works great but 1 out 3 times it doesn't wind back up clean and falls off the spool.

I also just got a 4000 Pro-4 and MMP for Hera!
I'm hoping that the 4000 will work well with the Summit trans.
My friend has the 3300 with an Axial trans in one of his trucks and the thing is a beast! I figure since the Summit's low gear is lower than then the Axial... it should balance out.

I traded d'sxj a set of AR60's for it and like a dumb@ss, I forgot to send him the beef tubes that were part of the deal... He's been real cool about it though and I've got him covered. "thumbsup"

no, Hera will stay with AR60's.
I traded the set from my rock racer.

I do still have the VP knuckles and CHubs in case I want to go back to 4ws... which I think I will since I just picked up a used FlySky.

The TTC was a blast.
Hera took 2nd in C3

Nice! How's she run?

FAST! REAL FAST!!!
I took Hera to one of our comp spots yesterday with 13t/68t on 3s... way too fast and some cogging at start up.

My sensor wire kept falling out too.

When I got home, I tried to install a 72t spur but the spur gear cover wouldn't fit over it...

So I ordered a 10t pinion. If that doesn't work, I can drop down to a 9t and if that doesn't work...

I moved the rear axle forward, shortening the wb a half inch, now down to 13.25". I keept getting hung up on the drop skid... I would like to move the front axle in a quarter inch but don't want to loose any approach angle.

I also shortened the winch line about 1.5'... I had way too much line and it was falling off the spool when retracting.

I really hope this new 10t pinion cures the Pro4 low end issues... that motor is one bad mutha!

Pro4 4000 testing:
68/13 spur/pinion
Summit trans
3s

It's way to fast. Fist gear is about where I'd like 2nd to be... so I have some tuning ahead of me.
Also, it sounds like my sensor wire came loose during the 2nd gear run... it keeps slipping out of the esc.

Next Steps:
I'm waiting on a 10t pinion.
Will try 2s
the 68t spur was the largest that would fit in the Summit trans spur cover... I may have to loose the cover so I can go into the 70's.

And, I apologize for the editing. My buddy Bad1 is currently honing his video skills. ;-)

Hera can crawl!
My 10t pinion showed up but it was too long and didn't fit.

So,
I put the trans back in and then took badhoopty's advice and lowered the throttle epa's. It gives enough control for a fairly smooth take off on 3s and better on 2s.
I ordered a Novak 10t, hoping that will get me where I want to be. "thumbsup"

Hera got a new bent stainless steel allthread panhard bar. The straight VP one was hitting the servo winch when flexing one way and the upper link when flexing the other way.
I got at least another .25" out of her... still less than 1 tire.

I had to try it.
Hera cannow pull wheelies in 2nd gear on 3s with the throttle epa turned down to 70%.

Thanks Ryan!
yeah, it was a rocky start with Hera but ever since I relocated the rear upper link mounts... I've been much happier with her performance.

I can't wait to comp with the new Pro4 setup! "thumbsup"

scale lug nuts from RC4WD. I like them and think I'll order more for the rest of the holes.
I sold the IROPs that were on Hera. I'm hoping the new Pit Bulls get released before our next comp season starts, but if not... I'll run the Rock Beast.
