Hit & Run Wraith - Ultimate G6 Machine

Harley hows the roc412 motor? I use mine mostly in technical crawling so im always in a bind ive ran a novak 18.5 turn ballistic crawler. It works prefectly never has not enough torque no matter the bind i can power through. If you knw wat i mean. But sadly not very happy with there customer service or products. Thinking tekin. Wat should i run. I plan on going 2 speed.

I love my ROC412, power and control is great. I see no use for a 2 speed. I've thought about a 2 speed, but the motor is faster than I need the low speed is great. Adding another servo and such just didn't seem worth it.

Now that you have some serious time on this truck is there anything you want to change or add? I am in serious lust for the Hit & Run and will have to work very hard to NOT spend all of my money building her clone:)

hi Harley, I have another question, I am getting my futaba bls157 in couple of days, the current output of my cc bec is 6v and to be able to fully power the bls157 my guess is I need to reprogram the bec to let it go up to 7.4v, is this correct? do I need to do anything else? thanks in advance.

Nope, just set it to 7.4v and you'll be set!

Hey Harley, if you got the MMP and set it to 7.1 do you need to run a cc bec, or is it better to disconnect the internal bec and go with the external bec?

How do you like the axles and do you think they are worth the extra cost?

The axles have worked great. The extra cost is a style thing for the most part. The rotated diff cover and Jock Strap skid does likely help in some situations but that's a hard one to differentiate while driving. You have to decide if they are worth it to you or not. I really like the 1 piece rear tubes though, which is obviously something that isn't available in a stock (or stock style) housing.

With my experience in the last few months with stock housings and lockouts the one piece rear housing would be enough for me!!!

Would you have a pic of how the wiring from the speed control goes through to the battery tray. I have installed one similar to your set up and am trying to run the wireing without the chance of rubbing. I am following this and useing it as a guide.
Thank you

Did you have a hell of a time putting your Pitbulls on those rims with CI foams?
With that small lip on the tires I had to redo the bead like 20 times.

Sorry, I dont think I have a pic of that and the truck is torn apart.

Are you using any special technics to install?
The lip on the Pitbulls smaller than other tires

What brand of wheels are you using?
How wide are they?
Which Pit Bull 2.2's do you have?
What density of foam do you have?

I also need to point out that the latest design of Double Deuce Foams do not mount on wheels narrower than 1". And when I say 1", I'm talking about the clamping surface, not outside ring to outside ring. The newest round of Vanquish Products 2.2 OMF, KMC Enduro, & all Method wheels DO NOT work with the comp cut style / standard / latest foam design that Harley uses in this build thread. The clamping surface of the latest VP wheels are .8" in width and I could not get the new foams to mount up easily, if at all, without narrowing the inner foam.

At this point I do not plan to change the foam design. If public demand is there, I may bring back the narrow inner again (even though it does not properly fill or shape the tire as well as the latest design of Double Deuce foams). PitBull Tire made a truly scale tire. PitBull took one of their 1:1 tires and properly shrunk it down to scale. People don't put a 2" wide tire on a .8" wheel and achieve a scale look. A wider wheel would achieve a more scale appearance and would also yield better and more predictable performance.

You don't see 1:1's with the profile of the tires shaped like this= )(

What you do see, is a sidewall much more in line or proportioned to the rim, creating a profile shape that looks like this= ll

Enthusiasts and builders understand this, but our voice does not count or goes unheard. I am truly disappointed that the wheels are .8" in width from VP. Maybe some one will make a desert race 2.2 tire that will be in proportion to the .8" wheel in the future.
