Hobbyking X-Car Brushless Power System 3000KV/45A

I just got a rtr scx10 used off ebay. put a castle bec on it and ran a 3s on it. over heated the motor on the second pack,
would this brushless combo be comparable in speed and torque to the stock motor? will it be able to handle full throttle bashing in sand pits, no crawling?
if this combo wont work do you sugest anything else around $100.
thanks

You will have more speed and torque than stock, I suggest gearing much lower than stock as it will be a rocket on 3s but have fairly poor low speed control.

As to sand pit bashing, depends on how hard you are driving and the gearing. it would last longer than the stock motor in that utility at least.

Looks like a decent starter combo for a brushless system. Definitely can't be waterproof from the factory as it's a sensored system. Waterproofing is an option you could take on. There are many ways.

I agree with Mr. Holmes. Gear down and volt up, words to live by "thumbsup"

If you just want all out speed, don't worry about the sensored system, pick up a waterproof sensorless one and have some fun in the mud. Once the plastic trans gears and plastic driveshafts are annihilated, it'll be time to upgrade those too.

15/87 would be a good start to gather motor and ESC temps from. From there you can gear up if you have temp overhead, I typically stay under 160f on everything for best life.
