Hey guys , anybody have any information on a Hobbywing Brushless 10bl 120amp esc , i like the fact that it has a program card since I have no way to use my castle link at this time , was planning on using it in a trail rig , any info would be appreciated , "thumbsup"

HobbyWing makes a lot of great stuff, but it's unfortunate that their brushless ESCs don't offer instant forward to reverse needed for crawlers.

The HobbyWing WP 1080 is an awesome crawler ESC, but it's for brushed motors only.

You can get a programming card from Castle, but it's not a complete programming solution. The Castle Link software is more powerful.

It has instant forward to reverse, and reverse to forward. And surprisingly strong drag brakes. I had the 10bl120 in my wraith. Not a bad esc, especially for the price. It's perfect for a trail truck.

It doesn't have the typical delay or double tap required like most HobbyWing ESCs?

No, no delay or double tap, all instant. And it works non sensored motors too, ran a 4pole 3100kv sensorless motor with it.

Well I will say that I fried my 10bl120 last week. Over geared my wraith, with heavy tall tires with snow chains, was plowing through 6 inches of powder, keeping the throttle pinned for several minutes at a time. And my fan had stopped working a while ago, but since it never got hot trial riding I didn't fix it. So don't do that... and they aren't waterproof, I used a few coats of conformal coating. Had it for about a year with no issues. I just was having too much fun to stop.
Another thing I do, which you might already know of, is use a servo extension lead for the esc, so you don't have to open the reciever box to reprogram the esc.
Another hobbywing esc option is the xerun sct120a. Not the ezrun, the ezrun sct120 isn't sensored, the xerun is. There are 2 used ones on eBay now, one says never used for 60ish shipped. New it's about 72 shipped. I was looking into them for a replacement, not a fan of escs with the caps outside the esc with tiny wires on them. I ended up getting a tekin rx8 gen2 used, still waiting for it to arrive.
Keep me(us) informed on the tenshock, I've been eying them and other sensorless 6 pole motors for my wraith. I do more trail riding then hardcore crawling, so the slight cogging won't bother me much I think.
