building my first tmaxx crawler. would like to try and make a tranny. my question is where do i get gears from and also any suggestions. thanks

Thanks for the link. Is it worth it to make a tranny? My tmaxx tranny all the gears were stripped.

When I think of someone "making a tranny", I think of them milling out a case and engineering where and how to install the gears, is this what you are talking about? If so, this more than likely is not the place for someone to jump into making their own parts at. There are a lot of trannys out there for crawlers, starting with the E-Maxx tranny. Now, you have the skills, by all means build it and post some picks, we'd love to see what you come up with.

No I am not going to mill a case. My idea was to sandwich the gears betwween plexi or aluminum. I seen it somewhere on this site but cant find it again. It looked simple so I figured I would try it.

I tried that. Used some different gears that I had laying around. It worked, but not well.
