O.K. Now That I am 4x4 now. A few questions. I have the HOT RACING Threaded Shocks on the rear. I am going to get them for the front. Because they are I think 4.5" Tall, shorter than stock WK shocks so they lowered my ride height. But the springs seem to be very stiff. They are bare metal in color. What Color or Spring stiffness is recomended?? Also what Weight Shock Oil do you guys use?? Thanx for the help"thumbsup"

Color coding for springs is different for each manufacturer. How stiff you want to go depends on how heavy your rig is, the terrain you run on, and personal preference / driving style. A softer spring will articulate more freely, but is less predictable in extreme situations. A stiffer spring will not allow the tires to stay as planted on the ground, but this can help carry a tire over big holes.

Ohh, I thought they were something new. I've ran a few sets of the Hot Bodies shocks (HB) on nitro trucks, and man, do they leak oil!

Mine have not been leaking much. I like them because they are shorter and adjustible. That comes in handy pre-loading to get rid of torque twist. Got a 20t motor to rip some speed before I slow it down to serious crawler speed. I guess the stiffer springs will be better for now at high speeds.

what different kinds of shocks are good, adjustable and are not prone to leaking?

Personal opinion is that race quality stuff is far superior to standard hobby grade. I would recommend Losi or Associated shocks over the popular HotBodies and Traxxas pieces. Personal preferece is for Losi shocks, simply becasue the seals and cap are all on one end of the shock, so there is half as many places for it to leak, as opposed to the standard seals on the bottom and caps on the top design. They are also easier to rebuild than AE shocks, because of the cartridge design.
