iv had my wk for about a year and now when i jump or climb something they click like their slipping is that commen and/or how to fix it otherwise its awsome

I have the same problem and i was told its most likely the gearing inside is stripping or if they were previously locked with jb weld or locktite it probably loosened itself.

Are you sure it's the axle? The slipper inside the WK's trans makes an annoying clicking sound when it "slips".

If your still runnin the stock tranny, more than likely it is the slipper clutch inside the tranny. I had the same problem with mine after I first bought it. I took the axles apart, and they were fine. It was the tranny "slipping" that was making that clicking noise. I ended up locking the tranny. The only problem with locking the tranny is you will start stripping gears in the axles.

Set the rig on the floor, hold it so that it can't move, and give throttle until it clicks. If the driveshafts move during clicking its your axles, if not its your slipper.

I wonder if this is the same problem I had a few weeks ago? Under strain I would hear this loud clicking - almost like a gear slipping. Without much investigation I figured it was the slipper, so I pulled apart the tranny and locked the slipper clutch with a stock shock spacer (worked like a charm) Problem was, it wasn't the slipper, it was the ring/pinion in my front diff. They were both chewed to sh!te!! I popped in a new set and made sure they were properly shimmed - badda boom badd bing - problem solved.

BTW, the locked slipper is not what caused the stripped ring/pinion. The clicking was still there RIGHT after I locked the tranny.

X2  Exact same problem with my rear axle
I KNEW it wasn´t the hardened steel drive gears
