How many of these movies have you seen

161
I am surprised Ip Man is on there.
I decided years ago I must see all of Hayao Miyazaki's films but they are a pain to find the older ones.
That is a great list, good one to work on.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey?
Are you effin kidding me? That is one I have not seen but come on, it cannot be that good.

I am very interested in The Hunt, Mads is the man!

Great actors help make great films, what could a director do without great actors?

JH, click the movie, it counts for you.

Yeah, figured that out after I posted. I edited my post with score.

Agreed. And you know when you see a great actor. But it's interesting to see that it's quite often that great actors and great scripts combine.....

146.
Some of those I have never heard of and are too dated for me. I think My grandfather would remember some of the war/John Wayne ones.

Bah, best actors & scripts with a bad director you have a shit movie. Directors make the movie, all the other elements are just colors on the directors palate or limitations they must deal with.

I think the best is the great writer/director, they make the best movies.

Kubrick baby.

Kubrick is awesome. Shining and Space Odyssey are beyond words.

If you like those I highly recommend Barry Lyndon.
1700's period piece with all natural lighting (well candles too.)
From a cinematography pov it is phenomenal.

I consider Kubrick the master.
That is even who my current avatar is8)

131 for me and 2 of my all time favorites "Cool Hand Luke" & "Papillon" i have seen better than 100 times each. If you are a reader and have never read the book "Papillon" you should pick it up.

There are quite a few good books on that list....some old, some new.
