how much airsoft pellets in a tire

It depends alot on the surface and steepness, and also your driving style, I have personally found on my Losi Mini Crawler that 300g of Copper BB's is best. Put some in and try it, then take half of them out and try again. You'll see how it affects your driving and know if you want more or less. I personnally like REALLY heavy wheels/Tires but then again there are several guys in our club that swear by star cut foams / Memory foam / No foam / Stuffed animal stuffing, Etc, There was even a time when we were playing with water balloons (doesnt work, btw). Its a personal preference imho.

i put in enough in my ax10 to fill the tire up about a quarter of the way and it seemed to have an improvement over the trinity memory foams but it wasnt smooth on the throttle at slow speeds,i assume because the pellepts were being moved and sloshed around inside the tire,i used some .12 gram or ounce pellets i belive and i saw some .20 ones at the store.so maybe im not putting enough in?

The only ones you cant use are the cheap steel bb's, They mess with your radio, even the spektrum ones. The heaviest out there for the least amount of space is the CopperHead BB's by Crossman. About $15 cdn for enough for 2 or 3 2.2 crawlers or half a dozen mini's.

I've heard about the bbs trick, but dose it work better then the stick on led weights? I think i have close to 2.5 lbs on each front tire, and the weights are wraped around the inside of the wheel. I figured with the bbs when you got on a steep slope they would role back and cause the truck to have more weight pushing back, witch would cause it to flip over.

Am I wrong?

The biggest problem with bb's is if your running a good foam setup, they shouldn't roll freely in the bottom of the tire... And say if your running no foams, they create rolling momentum. Just my .02.

Go to your local tire shop and tell them you are doing pine wood derby and need some stick on wheel weights. Usually they will give them to you for free.

thats how i got mine, you normaly get old ones for free, or pay just a little cash and get new ones. I'm gonna stick to the way i have mine done."thumbsup"

If you going to use AirSoft BB's... Use the lightest ones you can find. .12g.... Fill the tire up at least 85%.. The purpose is to replace the Foams. The AirSoft BB's don't roll around as much as you think. The idea is to add weight and Keep the sidewall strong. Make sure you Drivetrain is Beefy... I have a set of 2.2 Jordans set up like this and they work great.
