How to eliminate/prevent air bubbles

X2

WAY to thick.
Use lighter coats, (several), basically misting the surface to build up the layers. The more layers the darker/deeper/richer your color.

Yeah I know, I was just frustrated and just kept on spraying until the can was dead.

Was the body painted before you started this or was it just the stock new bright color?

It was stock red/black or whatever with the tribal decals. I primed it and painted.

Picked up new primer and paint today, all Tamiya. Spoke with the guy there and mentioned my dilema and said that testors and tamiya are very different which could have led to some of my problems.

lesson learned....dont mix paints. I know it may be possible to mix, but up until now I've never mixed brands and havent had any issues....the first time I mix brands I get this. :lmao:

Mixing paint it what I was getting at with that question. I am guessing the primer was an enamel and the black was a lacquer based which is why you have the solvent problems. You best bet will be to wetsand the body back down. And in VERY VERY light coats apply the primer until it looks to be covered. Then wetsand the primer with 500 or 600 grit paper. It's important not to sand though the primer as it will probably solvent pop again once you spray the black.

Well after hours of wet sanding I'm almost there lol Using 220 grit sure requires some elbow grease but dont want to ruin the body with too low grit a sand paper. Still need to finish the roof, redo some of the green body filler as the pressure from me sanding caused some separations and get more of the fine details done.

After some painstaking time sanding lol Here it is!

Definitely came out just like I wanted, I learned a lot from this experience. First time using Squadron Green putty, Styrene and Tamiya paint.

Took some serious measures to ensure a good paint job.

Wet sanded like no tomorrow, washed with warm soap and water, dried with blow dryer to minimize possibility of lint, painted thin coats. let dry 24 hours before applying another color. Overall took 4-5 days of painting following this. But it turned out just like I wanted! Thanks for all the guidance and help =)
