Whats the best way to fill body holes in lexan? I am remounting a body on a different RC and it will need to post holes on the top. I want to fill in the old ones on the side. I have scraps of lexan and lexan glue. I was thinking of cutting some small circles of lexan to fill in the holes then use the lexan glue then some kind of filler.

Is there a better way? I want to try and preserve the glossy look of the body so most of the work would have to be done from the inside of the body.

Thanks!

I have never done this but if me I would glue the scrap lexan under the body holes then use filler and sand. Of course you would have to paint the outside of the body for it to look good.

well ive always used hot glue, i put a small square piece of alum. tape over the holes on the outside of the body then use hot glue underneath to fill the holes, let it cool &pull off the tape it leaves a smooth surface that is filled in &you can take a small brush or q tip to paint over the glued area. works for me. good luck. "thumbsup"

How well does it hold up? I think I'll try that. Thanks.

Well placed stickers work good

LOL that is another great idea!

I ended up using the hot glue and with a little trial and error I got some decent results. The holes were on the side of the body.

Here are some things I learned

1. Keep the glue gun on low

2. Use some clean smooth metal as your backing

3. Do not use rough metal, popsicle sticks, or plastics

I think it came out well enough. You can still tell where the holes were and there are rub marks from the body clips but I was able to reuse a cool body.

Here is my Monster Truck Venom with scale chassis.
