hpi king crawler help

i just locked my front and rear diffs in my truck and while crawleing today i noticed my motor and speed control (esc) were getting abnormally hot im running a 35 integy and tazer 12 turn speed control with a seven cell 2400 nicd pack just for fun what happened? did i do somthing wrong? thnks for any suggestions

21 pinion and 96 spur maybe need to drop the pinion a good bit ? and also my steering has gotten funny not sure what has been causing that

i finnally got a 14 tooth pinion i hope i figures it out thought i would get more help from the sight but thanks anyways
