hpi sprint 2

sorry for no update, ive been having issues with this thing lately.

i reconverted the car back to front motor and was having issues getting the same throw out of both wheels. eventually that was fixed. then i had clearence and tire issues which were eventually fixed...... hopefully.

now i got a good deal on a new in box cyclone s kit which will be my new drifter!

im planning on keeping this as a front motor cs drifter. a 40% cs kit came in the mail yesterday from one of the vendors and i plan on putting it on tomorrow.

i have both and a cyclone s. however ive never actually driven the tt01 because it has NO adjustability what so ever.

as far as the tt01 is, you have to run tamiya pinions because there pitch is different. you do have you choice of which pinion you run, but you cannot adjust the gear mesh. also if you want to adjust the suspension, you will have to make your own parts or get a yeah racing conversion kit for it.
however the tt01 is cheaper, but can be loud

for the sprint 2 its what i started with. there is far more adjustabilty with it, and you can run any 48p pinion you want. also tc6 spur gears fit. some parts may be able to find as far as upgrades though. in stock set up they are great to drift. when converted to front motor, the steering can be a pain to set up and adjust gear mesh but once set up is much better.

for a cyclone s, it is a far superior chassis than the sprint 2 and tt01. the chassis is set up similar to a tc3 and some tcx parts will fit. as far as driving it, when it doesnt brake, its amazing on drift tires with stock set up and even better on grip tires. the biggest problems with these is that they brake fairly easy and upgrades are hard to come buy. these can be money pits.

i got my cyclone s brand new at the lhs for almost half price about a month ago. in the first handful of runs i stripped both center pulleys, broke the rear diff and almost broke a rear diff hold down in half!

i would see how the parts availabilty is at your lhs, or what parts they can get in. between the sprint 2 and tt01, i would recommend the sprint 2

deleted some.

a countersteer is similar to under drive or over drive with crawlers, but backwards. you could either make the front spin slower, or the rear spin faster. with a cs, it makes the car want to drift easier.

also if you put a front one way diff in it, when going forward it will be all wheel drive. when going in reverse or hitting the brakes it will be only rear wheel drive. putting these in makes it easier to initiate the drift
