You gotta love H.C. Just got back and the weather was perfect... about 56 degrees. Comment if you've been recently or live up there.

I grew up in Southern Humboldt. My sister still lives there and owns an equipment rental company. When I visit, it is The Land That Time Forgot... That place was stuck in 1969 when I lived there in the early to mid-80s, and it is still stuck in 1969 now.

I was born in Eureka and my grandfather still lives there. 1969 is right. Hippies and homeless galore. I got back last night and two days ago I saw a group of hippies with a sign that said, "Anything Green." Yeah, not much has changed. :ror:

BTW, I LOVE the tags for this thread:

We lived in Redway, which is about three miles from big 'ol town of Garberville (still about 300 people, depending on how many converted school buses have pulled into town...).

I love that part of the country, the redwood trees just can't be beat. It is just a bit too liberal for me to move back there. If I where to move back to No-Cal, it would be where I went to high school, Susanville, or maybe Redding; there is a pretty good mix of conservative rednecks in both of those places... "thumbsup"

My brother went to Humboldt State. We always had fun visiting him, that square is great, albeit full of weirdoes! The restaurants are good, too.
