Ok, I realize that it's not a big deal to most, but I can honestly say that my mind doesn't always grasp how OS's operate, I think it should work one way and microsoft found it humorous to themselves to make it work in a completely different way...:lmao:
The issue- a few months ago I thought I wiped out a portion of XP from my laptop when I was trying to clean up the hard drive. I loaded the recovery disc into the machine and it took a while before I got the prompt that said it was missing a file ( isn't that why I loaded the recovery disc into it in the first place??) so I did a restart only to have the screen go into a DOS style format asking me which OS I wanted to use  There was the fully loaded XP system and a 'set up' version of XP.
I finally got tired of having to manually chose the only fully loaded OS before it would boot so I took a while today to figure out how to *find* the hiding place for those pesky OS files and then how to chose the correct drop down box to eliminate the partially loaded OS. It turned out to be one of those 'so easy it's stupid' type of repairs! :lmao: I don't care, I'm happy about my minor victory.
