This is vital info that needs to be kept separate from the other threads.

Comp dates are 10/24 and 10/25

Tech Starts @ 9:30 am on Saturday
Drivers Meeting is @ 10am (Sat and Sun)
First Drivers start @ 10:30am

At 12:30 the comp will take a break while scalers are allowed to run a trail run on portions of the course.

2:30 pm Comp resumes

ALL score cards must be turned in by 4pm NO EXCEPTIONS!
4:15 pm (Sat only) Awards will be given out. IF you are not present, you will NOT be getting a prize.

We will adhere strictly to this schedule. This is to keep things flowing and so the crowd knows what is happening. There will be 2 courses going at a time with 2 sets of judges. You will line up at the entrance of the course, 1 driver leaves 1 driver enters. If you want to watch whats going on, you will need to be like any other spectator.

ALL trucks/gear must enter thru the loading dock (door 6A I think, will confirm). This door is 20-30' from the course itself, if you already have your credentials you may enter via this door. If you haven't picked up your badge you will need to leave your gear and go to the front for a badge. We will try to have a club rep at or near the door until 10am.

No Exhibitor Badge, no entry into the comp. Show Rules, if you don't have a badge we cant let you play.

There is a STRICT no bitching policy. If you have a complaint about the course, another competitor, a spectator etc... smile and keep your mouth shut. After the comp it can be discussed away from the booth.

We still need 4 Judges. I cannot judge as I already have obligations. We also need a rep or 2 to sit at the club booth (we have a 10x10 club booth also) and talk nicely to the public (Dave this is the perfect Job for you).

You may pick up your badge Any time from Wednesday morning on. If you come by Wednesday, stop in to the booth and help for a few mins.

Sorry if I come off Bluntly, we have been given approx $13000 worth of floor space and we have to do the best job we can.

I'm all over that job."thumbsup" Right up my alley for PR.

I can also judge if needed.

Are out of stater's allowed to compete? If so what are the fees for the badge. We are Central Ohio Crawlers, and a few of us were considering coming up to the show...This would be a great perk if we could run a comp while there.

thanks,

Eric

Very well spoken see you wednesday morning what are the club fees if a outta towner wants to join your club

SCRC currently has no membership fee.

If there is anyone out there who has not signed up for the comp but wants to, I should be able to get your name on the list but, I NEED YOUR NAME ASAP. There is no fee but you have to be on the list and have a badge.

anyone want to split a hotel. this will be a super budget trip if i can make it out. still trying to get there. fri and sat night is what im thinking. anyone?

you have the discount info correct??? $55 a night is dang cheap for the area.

If it comes down to it, one of us has a spare bedroom you could stay in I'm sure.

Otherwise its not that big of a deal you can stay in our room we can get a pullout for ya no big deal i have a room reserved wed thru saturday.

Jeff, due to the fact of zach not responding to the help and dblrnut either I took off wedensday to help transport the stuff. I don't get paid when I take days off so I have just donated $200 more dollars to the ihobby event. At this time my only stipulation is my wife says I have to sell something to pay for the gas up and back because we can't afford to pay for it missing a day work. So the slash will be in the f/s section tonight cheap.

Zach never responds to anything... half the time when I call he doesnt answer... as for John, I believe he won himself a lifetime ban from the site, I will try giving him a call. I REALLY APPRECIATE you taking the time off to help transport everything but, you really should put your family and income first, I can always make multiple trips if I have to.

I do put them first. My hours are getting cut as it is so it's only a matter of time before we hit bottom. I also gave you my word that I'd help. I was raised where a mans word is a mans word!

hey jeff, i think you should let the next person in line view the course while the guy in front of him is on the course. i have never seen a comp that excludes you from watching others go through the course. or will there be ample time to walk the course beforehand?

Is there a map somewhere that I can look at to see where this door is?

there is a map on the Ihobby site (Ihobbyexpo.com) the door is basically right next to the rock crawling course. To be honest I dont know all the details on getting stuff in the door myself.

The main thing with the comp and how people will be filed through is "crowd control" The area is way to small for all 30 participants to be in the area at one time. I had planned to do an open crawl format as we have pullers and racers that cant stay around the crawling course all day but, we may need to figure out a better method. I agree that everyone should be able to view ahead of time... With that said, I would like to see most people there by 9:30 and the doors don't open to the public until 10 so that gives at least 30 mins of walk around plus the time during the drivers meeting. Also, all registered drivers can come to ANY day of the show so, you can check out the layout etc ahead of time.

Im planning this to actually be an easy comp. I know there has been some controversy over the one obstacle and some of the stuff is going to look rather intimidating but this should be a comp where unless your battery explodes, you finish. The main thing is to recruit people into crawling versus scaring them off making them think its too hard.

As for how the prizes will be awarded. We are not going to do this conventionally. All of the prizes will be given a number or letter, then you will draw from the "hat" in the order you finish. Basically we are trying to make it more door prizes instead of awarding who does the best. The BIG prize will be given away in a separate drawing after the normal prizes are awarded.

thanks jeff i figured it out and will be there fri and sat for sure . i have to fly back sun so if theres time ill show up sun also. sounds like you have it under control. keep up the thankless work and by the way thanks"thumbsup""thumbsup"

I did a little work trying to piece together where this loading dock is. With the use of google maps, a map of the convention center, the iHobby floorplan, and Photoshop this is what I put together:

Mapmapcopy.jpg

The Blue star represents the rock crawling track. 2 red boxes over is the pits. To the left of the map (and not shown) is that big parking garage. I circled in green the general area I believe the entrance should be in. If this looks wrong to anyone, feel free to correct me. I'm not 100% sure if it is to scale or not.

Is iHobby only being held in hall A? That would help me figure this out for everybody.

its only in hall A. That picture is making me nervous about getting my truck and trailer in there.
