Well our scale season started 2 weeks ago and after a winter of other projects I had nothing ready for myself. I went the rent a ride direction on our first comp and a buddy let me use his Jeep build. Not wanting to wreck the thing I drove cautiously and managed a 7th.

The next day my 4yr old and I went up to the track and grabbed the only SCX10 he had left, a Trail Ready RTR. All the way home all I heard was ''can I drive it yet'' and ''thank you for the new truck daddy'' Its gonna be a dual purpose rig ... one she can beat on with out daddy closing his eyes and one daddy can comp with. "thumbsup"

Well not much of a build to start but heres the specs:

Axial Trail Ready
Egressor lockers front and rear
Over/Underdrive gears front and rear
Vanquish high steer front knuckles
MIP Rear drive shaft
35T on nimh for her and 3S for Dad
Titus 1.9 wheels with weights
Stock Flat Irons to start
Tamiya Hilux body w/shaved front fenders (nothing major just yet but I know I cant leave that alone.)
Yeah Racing 90mm shocks
RC18MT springs front and rear
Traxxas Revo links in place of the plastic TR ones - 4 link axle trusses also
Castle MM esc
35T double brushed
Honcho front bumper with TR light kit - using the 2 bumper lights as rock lights
Tubed back

My original idea was going with an F-Toy build like JustZachs, that thing is just so simple, clean and capable. Unfortanetly it wont fit in well with our scale rules and give me enough bonus points.

Well heres some stills of it for now, this will be my keeper to build on and comp with and when I go practice with the 2.2 I can bring my daughter and she can bash this one.

:lmao: thats the exact one that i thought about when I thought of the name. all the week long she's been telling me how she loves her new truck and always wanted one like it.

Looks great! With all that tube work you need to make a custom bumper for the front!

Thanks
Agreed .... been shopping through some images for what I want.

Ill have some pics tomorrow outside.

Well went to do some outside pics today after work and the camera battery was dead  so those will have to wait.

But got my bumper done .... something simple. I used solid rod for this, figure itll take the abuse better.

george

looks great rob! how does your front steering work with the 4 link truss and the chassis mounted servo? im thinking of making mine chassis mounted, (without the kit) but didnt know if my 645mg would be strong enough or if id create any bumpsteer! well keep us posted on george and hopefully ill see him in action may 2nd.

It works really well. I get a small amount of bump steer but to the point that if your not looking for it youll miss it. the 645 should handle it, I use anaolog 200oz chinese servos for my scalers and with a BEC on them they do the job.

Well George had his first comp last Sunday and handled himself good, took the second spot. Heres some action shots from it our club photographer took.
