Is this a good deal for a basher?

A local hobby store is selling the Duratrax Evader EXT with a battery and Charger, for $99.00.

I've been wanting kind of a basher to play with. I've thought of a Traxxas Slash or a Team associated SC10. For the scale appeal.

I like the the Losi 1/10 Desert truck RTR with Lights and a Spektrum TX/RX or the Traxxas Rustler because of the cost.

But $99.00 take home and run, seems like a pretty good deal for around the yard bashing.

So, what do you guys with more toys then me think.

Save a bit more and get a Slash, I have a Evader, I'm not impressed.

I had the Losi 1/10 DT last summer, I loved it. Only issues I had with it were spur gears, but they're cheap. It handles really well and has decent speed right outta the box. If you thru a brushless system in it it would go like stink. The guy I sold it to, put an xcelorin system in it and it's blindingly quick. I'm half tempted to grab another one this year but I've so many vehicles right now it wouldn't see enough use to justify the expense. The 1/10 Duratrax electric vehicles from what I understand are the old Losi XXT which rights and molds etc were sold to them, just made from a lesser quality plastic. That's what my LHS guy says anyhow.

I have a Desert Truck and a Slash and they are both great trucks. But I would go with the losi.

Shit dude, for $100 go for it, i bought one for $60 used (bx) and its a blast.

I think I read that Duratrax has a 1 year warranty on any parts that break, check into that. For a hundo ready to run I say buy it and bash it, or look in the classifieds to find something better for around the same price. That will be tough though, $100 rtr is good and you can use the battery and charger again.

Get one of the brushed Traxxas 2WDs, all of the latest ones are now waterproof with the VXL trans internals for prett much the same price as before. From what I've seen of the Evader line over the years is that it's junk that is partially copied from one of Losi's older trucks.

slash. stampeed, bandit, or rustler get one they are all water proofed now and they hold up to tons of bashing

Honestly spend a little extra and get slash - virtually indestructible

You couldn't give me a Duracrap. And there is a reason they have that 1 year guarantee, they plastic used breaks easily. As others have stated, try and get a Slash for a good bulletproof basher.

duratrax = dont buy me and save your money for something better.

the losi and ae are nice but they are more race driven.

i say go with the slash. you can beat the crap out of em. driving it on pavement can take a little getting use to because of the suspension travel and high cg. but after the first couple of roll overs and hard charshes you'll see why the slash is the better basher

Okay, I'll save the money and go for a Losi or the Slash. I do like the waterproof Idea. I like to go camping where there is Creeks and rocks and running water. I might try to find both used though that way I get the best of both worlds.
