Jeep Mighty FC Concept

I have wanted to do one of these for a while - I will be watching this, looks like you are off to a great start!

I got a little more work done on it. The roof is done and into primer, and the sides of the cab are roughed in. Also had to shorten up the snout a little because it was sticking out too far.

That looks great! Are you going to make a drop bed?

Nope, if you look at the original, it doesn't have one either. It does have some bead rails that I still have to make though. The bed rails fold down, but mine won't because it would be too prone to breaking.

Some more supplies came in today.

I got the styrene I need to do the bed rails and a Axial JK roller.

And here is is mocked up on the chassis with the Flatirons. I streached the wheelbase out to 13" to keep it in scale with the OG.

The tires look too small to me. The body started as a 1/9 scale JK and this is the same scale down to the wheelbase. The real truck has 17" wheels and 40" BFG Krawler tires. That puts the scale wheels right at 1.9", and the tires should be 4.4", but the Flatirons are only 4.2" tires.... The Rock Crusher II's are 4.34" What do you guys think?
If only Axial would release the Krawlers that come on the PS Wraith as 4.4" 1.9's I would be set.

Time to get to work on the bed rails.

The tires look small to me too. 1.9 Pitbulls scale out to 40s, and so do RC4WD Gadiators.

I know the Pitbulls would scale out right, but I would like to keep it as close to the original as I can, and the Pits don't look as close. Would rather have the right size though, even if they don't look quite right.

i cant wait to see this thing out on the trail... have you noticed the full scale old school version of your truck on harford rd in cub hill?

there is a small used car lot next to a gas station at the intersection of harford and cub hill. the old jeep flatbed is wedged between the car lot buildings

Finished up the bed!!

Even made a license plate holder.

Now on to the nose. That is going to be the hardest part, but at least I have a little experience working with styrene and ABS now.
