Jeep paint job, help!

I'm building a Jeep Wrangler rig with 1.55 wheels over a modified SCX10-2. I'm getting into the painting point and I don't have a lot of experience in painting hard bodies.

Which colors and brands of painting would be best to get the classic grey color (see attached picture)? It would be adding coats of primer, silver and clear for the shiny effect?

Would Rust-Oleum do the work?

Depends how fancy and flawless you want your paint job to be. Rattle can from the hardware store will do the job (I prefer Krylon over Rust-Oleum however), but model paints are designed to atomize finer and lay down a nicer finish on a styrene model.
Right now I'm painting a hardbody XJ with Krylon, but I'm shooting for a +20 year old, neglected paint, so it doesn't matter if it orange peel or other blemishes, they're character.

Thanks for the advice! So, should I look for "grey" or "silver" paint? Using clear at the end is still a good idea?

I used to use model paint on hard bodies, but now I use Duplicolor automotive paint on any hard bodies, including 1/24 scale cars. I just get what I need at a local auto parts store like Autozone, Pep Boys, etc. I use the primer, color and clear from them so I don't have mixture issues. Rustoleum is great for 1:1 items, but I think it lays down too thick for rc bodies...just my opinion.

58 Willys is right on about the rustolem. It will lay flat and provide a good look from 10 feet, but its so thick you loose all the fine Details. Check. The paint and body Section. Great stuff There.

They're both correct about the Rust-Oleum, one of a number of reasons I like Krylon better. Especially the Fusion line.

Ok, I will use Tamiya TS-30. Should I use Glossy Clear or Flat Clear?

Your reference shows a glossy metallic silver but that's up to you.

A well stocked hobby shop that carries Tamiya paints or model railroad paint is a great place to start. The pigments in that paint is extremely fine so that the paints sheen looks "natural" on the miniature vehicle.
