I'm at work but I'm sure it will be on the news everywhere as a jet crashed into an apartment complex maybe 3miles from my work

welcome to living near oceana... crashed over in apartments crossed where i lived many moons ago... direct fly path to the runaway... according to the news, the 2 pilots did eject...

Just turned on CNN and they are covering it, I seriously hope the people that live in that complex all got out in time or were at work!

Did the people eject :ror:

That's sad hopefully the nobody died or got seriously injured.

I lived here for a long time and don't recall something like this before. Let alone such a good view of the smoke pouring up into the sky

Between MSNBC and CNN, it sounded like the pilots in the plane were able to eject and were ok enough that they were ambuletory when they were taken to the hospital. Sounds like there is 1 know civilian injury, but nothing has been mentioned about findings in the buildings yet. One guy who was able to assist one of the pilots said he kept aplogizing to him for hitting his complex.

If it was a double seat F/A-18 then it was a trainer. I wonder if that had anything to do with. Hopefully everyone was at work.

It was part of a training squad, but it almost sounded like there might have been issues on take off with the plane it self.

Sounds as though the pilots ejected safely and no one in the apartment complex was injured, a miracle.

Just heard them say they have to spray a wax type material on the actual crash site to prevent carbon fiber dust from the plane from being blown around

Weird thing, but the ocean is 3 blocks away.... maybe they should have tried better aim? Either that, or they were ordered back....

Sounded like that was all the farther that plane could fly and that they were doing their damnedest to make it to the water. If what has been reported was correct, they bailed at the last possible moment with out riding the plane into the complex. Them boys weren't screwing around once they knew the shit hit the fan, they were in full "get it someplace safe!" mode almost immediately.
