jmike's Havoc Pro build

Success! It was the "Holmes Drag Brake" setting in the castle link doing the dirty biz. I wonder why this wouldn't work with my setup..? Oh well

Edit : I had the Holmes Brake too high FYI for any BR-XL users

All together.. All 6lbs 7.7oz of her. On 4s this sucker is insane... Pulling lines on my test pile I would have to take 20 attempts on the LCC in one or two tries. Going to be a good summer.. when it gets here...

12t pinion front
11t pinion rear

BEC 7.4v

35wt shock fluid
10mm external limiter
No preload space adjustment

Got the same chassis coming. Still haven't decided front or read torsion.

Lot of good info in this tread"thumbsup"

Clean up your workbench! PMP! I like it, now if only you could drive! Now go buy a scaler and get that set up for summer, Rich and I are bored! I have another body for ya to paint, this one I need before the Slash!

No time to clean. Only time for wrenching. The body will have to wait till it warms up a bit the little propane heater cant conquer the -30s. We should get together and make up some them nice axle guards you do.

Was a little bored today so I made myself a little movie of some runs up the old test pile.. Oh old man winter.. take a hike so I can play outside :flipoff:

Made a few changes.. trying some pen springs for the shocks and they seem to be working well so far, very smooth operations. Moved the Lipo to the rear axle.. seems to allow for better articulation in the front and gave the rig a more balanced feel. I think next im going to change around some of the throttle curves in the BR-XL.. Try and dial out some of the 4s initial snap  makes it hard to finesse sometimes.. Made a bent link roof bar to try and take some of the impact out of roll overs and allow the rig when ugly side up to roll towards the wheels some more..

looks great, I watched your thread while i waited on my stuff to come in. i still need to do the steering servo mod, learn to drive and maybe get dig. I cant imagine how it would run on 4s, i just installed maxamps 1300mah 3s and its crazy compared to running those 8cell nimh pack

I was going back through your thread looking at the cab and seeing if I wanted to run cab now, its just hard to get a body to fit right on this chassis without cutting it completely apart. Anyway, I have the exact same kind of glitch noise you had in your video. I am going to check my drag brake now, Im running same esc

your build thread is awesome ..... i really like the havoc pro!!!!! .... i was skeptical about the cab but after seeing your rig .... it really looks spot on ...

kudos to jpcustomrc's for a well thought out torsion chassis

Woot! first day on the real rocks..

The one thing I noticed is when the rear tires are in a 90deg edge before a climb the rig rear wants to dig in and pull itself over backwards. I'm thinking this is due to a lack of squat out of the rear torsion setup. Im going to try a sprung rear just for kicks to see if this tames this nuance. Other than that I am really impressed and am excited for our 2011 season
