the txt is 34:1
I have a jug2 and an emaxx
I had an idea ... take the front and rear of of the emaxx
and muont the jug2 axels with links instead :roll:

your tuber idea is just as inventiv "thumbsup"
 
Went to another friend's shop today and used the surface grinder to make the maxx stub 1/8th inch so I can put the pinion on

kinda.

I placed some electronics, got the pinion meshed up.
figured out there is a warp to my spur gear.
got the Mmax powered, and made the shift linkage.
so far I have a shift servo and a speed controller hooked up.
On order are some LED's

I still need to fab some servo mounts for on the axle.
Still need to get teh rest of the hardware to finish bolting the axles together.
 
Got off the cheap and ordered a cc-bec so i won't be trying to run 4 servos off the MM's 3 amp bec.

Should be fabbing up some servo brackets for the ginormus 400oz-in servos sometime next saturday.

need to get some servo tape to finish mounting some things.

found a website with 9000mah D cell Nimh. I might give some of those a whirl. otherwise I'll stick with one of the lipo packs I already have.
 
I've whipped it out a couple of times, no outdoor pics yet.
pretty stable, the motor was slower than i thought, so I upped the battery to 3s lipo. Might drop to a 9 or 10 tooth pinion and try 4s
very little torque twist. i was supprised, the last txt I built required almost 10 lbs of retrating springs to keep the chassis planted on the axle. This sprung rig is really doing well.

here are current pics. I still need to get matching plugs on the motor/esc to prevent the glitching and overheating there.

I decided teh front was too firm, so I swapped in some stock wheely king springs up front. it drives nice, although with a rather high center of gravity. Last time I had it out, it surprised me with its ability to crawl, and its durability. only after a 10 foot cartwheel did I finaly break a shockon the front. this truck is about where I want it to be. fairly capable, and nearly indestructible.

passenger side, you can see the brick of a battery inside a piece of aluminum channel with some flashing over it. this was pre hardcase lipo days.

i ws able to copy the original home made servo mount onto 16ga steel. not reall happy with where it sits, but for the light wheeling, and low speeds i figure it will work a lot better than the no servo mounts i had.

eventually i'll get a radio set up and get the wiring sorted and get this beast running. i want to get a 6s capable esc so i can get it up to jogging speed.
