Just Another Wraith Build

Thanks guys! Only real con going centered is non standard axle shafts and different rod ends for the uppers. Supposedly it does reduce torque twist a little and from the little running I've done I think that's true.

I put a Yeti fuel cell in back. This got the stock electronics box out of the passenger side and let me put the seat back in. Eventually I'd like to get some aluminum seats for it, the stocks ones are damn heavy. I also ordered a set of black/black Vanquish Method 105 wheels

Did a ~3 mile trail run this weekend. Didn't get any good pics but the Wraith did great, 3s 3200mAh pack lasted the whole run (just).

Got my Method 105s built. Gonna get a set of wideners for them so I can run Pitbulls and CI double deuce foams. I really love the Ripsaws, but I'm looking for a bit more height.

Couldn't help myself, used some birthday money and bought an HH Puller Pro 3500kv and switched to 32p gears. I really love the Trailmaster Pro and it's perfectly crawlable, the Puller is smoooooooth though. The TM Pro will go in an upcoming build (perhaps a Bomber).

I also put in some U4 style LEDs in the rear light bar, I cut off the lead from an old servo and used that to plug directly into the receiver and simply used the correct resistors for a 6v source.

Spent a few hours on the trails yesterday and found another crawling spot today. Everything's holding up pretty well. I threw the stock gears back in the front for now, I'll need to order the hardened ones though. The Holmes Puller is just fantastic.

So trying to film while crawling has always been awkward, so after a bit of thought I came up with a simple solution. Stuck a GoPro mount to my radio, now I can keep both hands on deck for driving and film at the same time, can't wait to give this a shot.

And now for something completely different. I used regular spray paint when I built the kit and it didn't take long to start flaking off, as you can see in the pics. I was also tired of the regular body, I really wanted the Dynamic concepts Rubi body but that guy dropped off the face of the earth, I also considered the Pro-Line Jeep body. Ultimately I decided on the Deadbolt body, because I love the early Bronco resemblance and don't care much for the PL Bronco body.

I used Tamiya dark metallic blue and black paint.

I'm glad that works, because I plan on using my old Deadbolt body when I assemble by Wraith Spawn kit, and save the Spawn body for my SCX10 chassis.

Re: Just Another Money Pit

Great body, fun build. Glad you got out in the cold to enjoy. 2 degrees is just to cold for me.. [emoji15]

Thanks guys! Here's a little video from my controller/GoPro setup.

Great idea putting the go pro on the controller like that. The new body looks really good too.

Didn't do much over the holidays. Got a set of BDN wideners for the VP wheels. Also got in a set of Pitbull RBIIs and CI double deuce foams. I went with soft, comp cuts on both ends. Roomsmate's Wraith has normal cut soft and mediums and I prefer my foams little softer than his are.

Also tried out a Holmes HV400 servo, one that he blew out for $35 before switching to the new design. I ran it on 8v and it sure had more power than my 7950, however after a couple hours of running it would get sluggish and unresponsive. Then I did a 3 miles trail run a couple weeks ago and broke a gear shaft inside it, so I put the 7950 back in.

Wideners with the Ripsaws. The R35 Ripsaw is really an incredible tire, I just wanted more height.
