Like the title reads....
I just ordered a WK today, along with the crawler conversion.
From browsing the WF forum here I see that flipping the chassis and mounting the servo on the axle are the basic beginning mods.
Any other common mods to make the WK a better crawler?

Also..as far as motor/esc.....what is a good combo?

It really depends on the type of wheeling you do. For me it made more sense to just do a whole new chassis and upgrade electronics as I can.

X2. if you are going to crawl with a WK, get a different chassis. Even if its an AX-10 chassis, it will help.(if you get a new chassis, clock the motor) Definately move the servo to the axle."thumbsup" Also, get different wheels and tires, the stock ones suck, even if you cut them all to pieces.

For a motor I would recommend an Integy 55t, great wheelspeed and torque and only around $20. PM me anytime you need help with something and I'll help you out as best as I can.

if your handy with so tools and don't mind making the chassis and motor mount your self. i have some pdf's of two different chassis (one made for the WK and one custom one) and a one of the clocked motor mount.

for a motor a 55T is a great start. in comps around me there is more and 35-45T poping up. I run the HH 7T Puller. more power then a 65T with all the wheel speed of a 35T or so. and realy smooth.

for the esc. i like the tekin FX-R its nice and small as well as runs 3s liPos. but the drag brake is not as good as like say a rooster crawler esc.

I haven't upgraded my chassis yet, as I just got the WK a couple days ago, but I have my name on the list for a banana chassis.

you can get them here. i was on my phone so i couldn't post a link. i have to post the custom chassis pdf on there.

I have been around for a lil, and should have my Wk with crawler conversion tomorrow.

I have been just reading so I didn't post up questions that were already asked, lol

anyways, I am already trying to think of ways to upgrade.

I wont be doing any comp, just house crawling.

What material would be the best to make the skid and chassis out of? Aluminum?

The WK has the stock 27t motor, whats the best motor to get for crawling? and what are the benefits?

and my last hi-jack question, I have a 3000mah Venom battery pack, is that a decent battery for the stock motor, or should I upgrade?

Sorry for the long post and the Hi-jack, I figured we were in the same boat and you might want to know the answers too...

i have upgraded everything except my chassis and mine is pretty capable but im looking to upgrade a chassis next..i was looking at nathanlimas chassis! it looks like it can be a very capable chassis and it uses the stock wk tranny and it clockes the motor plate..looks promising to me "thumbsup"

What material would be the best to make the skid and chassis out of? Aluminum? You have several choices, aluminum is always good. I would recommend delrin for the skid tho. Or even using a cutting board from Wally World. Delrin or a cutting board slide good on rock and other obstacles.

The WK has the stock 27t motor, whats the best motor to get for crawling? and what are the benefits? Most use an Integy 55T. You could either use a 55T or get the HPI reduction unit. If you choose the 55T and arent good at soldering, there is non-solder motor leads on Tower Hobbies' website."thumbsup"

and my last hi-jack question, I have a 3000mah Venom battery pack, is that a decent battery for the stock motor, or should I upgrade? I would keep that battery, you will get good run time out of it.
