I just got this today, but now I need a battery, and a charger. What battery should I get, and which charger? THANKS A TON!!!!

I am up in Frazier Park right now with a ton of rocks in the yard and want to get to playin this weekend.

It really depends on how much money you have to spend.

If the budget is tight, then a 6 or 7 cell Elite 1500 saddle pack and a Piranha charger would get you started nicely.

X2! "thumbsup" This would be a good starting setup if you dont have batteries or a charger.

The Piranha charger has been discontinued by duratrax. They're apparently releasing something better as a replacement. It is still sold by tower as a house branded charger.

one of these :flipoff:

22.2v, 5000 mah

nah, don't get that.

Pick up some battery plates from tcs and grab a 7cell split pack or two while your there. you'll spend the same amount on 2 batteries than one lipo costs. as for a charger, I really like the hobbico quick field charge MKII, DC only though. for ACDC, I like the prophet Plus.

Battery

I bought a 7.2v 4500nimh . Is this battery going to be a good for my ax10 rtr? ANd about how much run time will i get with this?

It won't do you any good for crawling in the stock location, but you can split it in two and put the cells all over the front axle. you should get around 40mins-hour depending on how you are driving and your gearing.

You should get a whole lot more than an hour. Most folks get close to an hour with 1500mah 2/3A cells. That pack will work fine, but will raise your center of gravity quite a bit, causing you to roll more easily. It will impact your sidehilling and climbing. It is OK, but not the best solution.

that big of a battery will not hurt the rest of the electronics will it? Sorry fro the dumb questions still really new to the sport.

nope, just climbing ability. you really cannot go to big an a battery as far as the mah, just the voltage.

think of the Voltage as the Horsepower, and the MAH as the Fuel Tank. the bigger the fuel tank, the longer the run time.

not with a crap 27 turn motor and a big ol pinion. guys getting an hour off of 1500's have high turn (35+) motors and their rigs are geared down nice and low. on a stock rtr axial, it's going to be not much better than a regular car.
