Picked this up from MikeCRO here and wanted to get some ideas on what I should do to start.

I am truly a newbie and will be learning along the way.

This has a Clodzilla 3 chassis, Super rooster, and (x2) 14T Speed Gem 2 motors, 1800 mah battery, and standard Futaba servos set for 4 wheel steering. I picked up a TQ3 controller from thecrawlerstore.com to go with it.

Ideas???

Lose one shock per corner, and find lathe motors and 9 tooth pinions. Then drive.

Find the weaknesses, and go from there. It might be fine for a long time.

Are the diffs locked? That is a cheap mod you can do with JB Weld, Hot Glue, or Shoe Goo. Having all 4 tires driving you forward instead of having one tire in the air spinning and you not going anywhere is a big help. My $0.02

Yea, I say Lathe motors, only 4 shocks, and loose those standard servos, there not gonna steer that thing!

Diff are unlocked. Can y'all direct me to some instructions on how to do that?

I have looked at the Clod building thread and will more than likely be picking up the lathe motors and 9t pinion listed in there.

Servos...ok, will look into that as well.

Anything else?

LOL...thanks, I think :)

Yeah, I opsted that and then smacked myself for not searching...cut me some slack, I just got home from working a double shift :?

ah u picked up mikecro's clod... he has some nice car's an takes care of them. Im a noob to crawling also .. im still in the SEARCH development. i wanna get some good info on parts an all b4 i get somethin .. this is a great site for the info ive learned ALOT from being on here. congrats on the clod an good luck on ur procress.

PS sorry for getting off topic. ;)

Yeah, it is in great condition.

I removed the extra shocks at each corner and plan to go and pick up my new charger and battery pack tomorrow so will be playing with it this weekend.

how much wb you got with that. if its under like 16 inches i would get some longer links. that was my first modd to my crawler. just my $0.02 as well.

Hey Girly, I wanted to suggest something, and maybe you've already done this. Mounting the lower part of the shock in the forward hole, and the upper part at the rear most hole will lay it down and will increase the amount of articulation. I don't know if that truck needs it, but it's somfin' to try.

I'm bored, and I was checking out the truck and I wanted to say that. Woo woo.

Narrow those wheels and cut the tires for a better tread pattern, both can be done cheap/free and will help if you dont want to upgrade just yet.

If you decide to sell off your extra shocks shoot me a PM, I managed to lose one of mine (same kind) that I was using for a scale project.
