Here's my Losi Comp Crawler for your viewing pleasure. Since EeePee gave me grief for being a member here since 2005 and hardly having any posts, I figured I'd start a thread finally.

Specs:

HB Rovers
Crawler Innovations 5.5 Double Duece 2 stage foams
Vanquish DH front wheels (.585 hubs, vents open)
Vanquish SLW V4 (.7 inch wide, .475 hubs, no vents, yet)
Team Pro Creations delrin skidplate
Custom delrin lower links
JeepinDoug delrin shock spring retainers
Trinity red shock adjusters (from my secret stash of old school stuff... just for the bling factor)
RPM delrin shock balls (also from the secret stash)
CDW servo plate
CDW battery mount
CDW forward dig mount
RCBros aluminum motor clamp
Gunnar pins
Losi mods: graphite shock arms, HD worms, aluminum rear upper link mount, 20* c hubs, lightweight aluminum tranny internals, slipper eliminator, V3 cvds
Electronics: tekin RS, Epic Duo2 17.5, CC BEC, CBP Elite 1000mah 35C 3 cell, Hitec 5955TG steering servo, Hitec 225BB dig servo, KO EX-1UR 2.4ghz radio and 408S 4 channel receiver
Others: tranny is flipped, axle grease ports, outboarded rear shocks, red anodized aluminum hardware, custom shims on the dig shaft, wheelbase stretched to just under 12.5 inches

Sorry for the grainy pics... still trying to figure out this new camera.

where can i get CDW parts

thanks

Thanks "thumbsup"
CDW stuff can be found here. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/showthread.php?t=266300 Rob_b is in the process of moving so it may be awhile before he's up and running again, but it may be worth a PM to see if he has any stock laying around. I still want the rear weights when he gets them into production. I'm still trying to get myself to pull the trigger on DLux's knuckle weights, too.

Moves the motor weight forward. It shifted about 6% of the weight forward when I tossed it on the scales before and after flipping it around and moving the dig servo up front.

OK come clean ....... wheres the secret stash from? I need those shock adjusters . I talked to Jake a bit back about diggin through Losi's archives for the old Matt Francis XXT part #'s but I think Gil took the files with him lol.

Second ....... are those bec power wires using plugs on the esc?

Third ...... truck looks great "thumbsup"

Whats your opinion on that motor? Ive been thinking about calling Todd P and seeing what he could come up with for crawlers. Curious how some of the other motors been doing.

AHHHHHH my secret stash of kick ass parts... I've been in RC for over 20 years. You'd be surprised all of the stuff that I have that is NIB thats just freaking sweet. Everytime I do a build I dig through the stash to see what will work.

1. Trinity part # is TMF1121. I actually scored these about a year ago from posting a wanted ad on RCTech. I have a NIB set of blue ones from the Kinwald era too. I still want a set of these...

been looking of over 2 years. I used the HPI versions on touring cars for a long time and the delrin ball up top was nice. You could adjust the tension on the top shock mount by how tight you set the locknut. Really worked well at taking the slop out, but keeping everything nice and smooth.

2. Yup. Mini deans plug fits the posts on a RS perfect. Makes for nice and neat wiring and its convenient when repairs are needed... and we both know what thats about.

3. Thanks man. Ive followed your thread for a long time so that's nice to hear coming from you.

As far as the motor goes, I like it so far, but I dont have a whole lot of brushless experience to compare it to. My only other experience has been in a VTA touring car where you arent allowed any tuning via ESC or timing. I'm still trying to get my head around tuning motor performance via the ESC. I did it to a point back in my touring car days with the Corally ESC, but it was nothing like it is now. Before the teardown and rebuild you see above, I was using brushed motors in 5 minute shots like EeePee. I was ok with running it that way, but it always left me wanting more. Once the axle buster is available, this setup will be pulled for sure after seeing EeePee's truck run for three gates. If that motor isnt released before the spring/summer season hits, I'm going to talk to the guy that runs Murfdogg and see if he can tune a 17.5 specific to our needs.

I remember those, had the blue ones on my XXX4.

Googles gonna get a work out for that Trinity number now lol.

Never even though about those Deans, got a ton from my scale builds "thumbsup"

Got a buddy of mine I use to travel with that still races TC. He was talking about Putnam making some multi-wire brushless motors for him. Put the bug in his ear for one .... Im with you, been brushless for years and still learning this whole brushless thing.

Good luck with the google search. Ive tried just about every online shop that has NOS stuff and no one had them.

I bet a Putnam tuned brushless would be nice. If they run anything like his old brushed stuff, I'd be down for trying one out. Only reason I thought about Murfdogg is everytime I see one posted in the sale section on RCTech, its gone before I can send a message that says "i want the motor". Speaks volumes in the racing world, considering its for a used motor.

Tranny flipping

Moves the motor weight forward. It shifted about 6% of the weight forward when I tossed it on the scales before and after flipping it around and moving the dig servo up front.
Oh O.K Thanks : That's something similar to what I use to do back in my RC10 days running a mid mounted motor. I'll have to check that out and see what it takes to get it done. I just got done doing a complete re-wire job and now she looks almost wireless. It took days of planning and mocking things up until I came up with the perfect plan, So if it doesn't take to much effort to make the necessary wire changes I will have to flip it for sure. I already run a mini servo {E-Flight EFL-RDF-75H} 121 grains or aprox. 1/4 oz  Thanks for the tip. every little bit counts. "thumbsup"

Insentive to trick mine out that that .

Man I know I like it."thumbsup" Looking yours over from Nose to Tail definitely gives me some incentive to trick mine out. I've been working on the finishing touches of { Project Wire Job} . It figures I'd check this post out after I was almost done with it. I'll flip the Skid and Tranny next time I tare it down. Here is a real short clip of the finished job. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0rvD2Kt58w

I got some goodies in the mail yesterday from davec "thumbsup" Still have to come up with some cool paint on the panels, but here's the mock up shots of one of the cabs I got.
