I built this LJ over the last year, and I had the opportunity to get my hands on another New Bright TJ body that had its stretch mostly completed. So I grabbed it and started another one!

And the new body

More to come!

Build specs:
scx10 chassis
scx10 trans 35T brushed
SSD Dana 60s
1.9 Beadlocks
BFG Krawlers
New bright TJ stretched to a LJ
Steel and aluminum armor
RC4WD front bumper with add-ons

The previous owner had already cut the hood for hi-line fenders so I had to make those. I usually just do normal tube fenders on my New Bright bodies.

My other jeep has a Poison Spyder style roll cage so this one I wanted a fast back style. I also like the dual B-pillar design on rock bouncers, so I included that in my design.

Race jeeps need a spare so I messed around with different placements of the spare.

Hi-lines and BFG Krawlers!

Few more upgrades, all jeeps need Dana 60s!!
pretty basic build on these, 3 link front, 4 link rear. Aluminum Axial C's and knuckles.

I added some scale goodies to the Axial 8 hole beadlocks.

Built the rock sliders. just used 1/8" rod for these. the rest of tube work is 3/16" rod.

Killer build you got going. Tube work looks good. For the spare, you could cut the back gate out and lay it almost flat on the floor. My 2 cents.
Still looks sweet.

Got a deal on a used RC4WD bumper and added a radiator hoop to protect the hard body.

You can't really tell but the steering servo is mounted right behind the grill in the chassis.

This is where the KOH styling comes in, I decided even though there is plenty of room in the bed i wanted it to hang off the back.

Made a simple rear bumper that added support and protection for the spare.

Started planning my rear armor because I wasn't happy with how i got it. The other LJ has a squared wheel well, so I wanted to make this one round.

The tire tucks nicely up in the wheel well!

Hopefully ride height will be slightly higher than this

Mandatory flex shot!

Just needs front body mounts, and then its getting painted

I thought about that, but was afraid if I cut the back up I'd loose too much strength.

Super sick work there.

OTHER SWEET LJ

Thanks guys! I'm really happy with how its turning out!

I made the front body mount, glued the plastic pieces that clip into the shock hoops to the under side of the hood.

and then tore everything down for paint!

Also race jeeps need a fuel cell, and the cell of choice for jeeps is RCI. My cell still needs finished and will get plumbed when installed.

Paint is almost all complete! With aluminum being the "IN" material, I painted all the armor aluminum

Still need to paint the interior, and the mirrors!

I need some opinions on the tube fenders. Leave them aluminum or color match them to the body?
