krawls XR.....with a dash of y-town please!

we're into rc's ofcourse we dont have lives :ror:

boy isn't that the truth!

I am not sure what is going on with this, but I did walk into his shop this afternoon and find him with a box of tissue, a bottle of lotion, and a bunch of Vanquish parts.

I guess some people LOVE VP more than others.

you forgot to mentian that dutch rudder you gave me:flipoff:

Very Nice Krawl!

I Love the color scheme so far

Bet the skins will be sick too

Quick question about CF chassis coment above. So you're saying I need to install crossbraces, like the upper braces, in between chassis to support upper links? Has yours been flexing to much? Or whats the reason?

Looks great! Are you still running the 475's up front? Looks like you were able to run 2 .300 rings on each knuckle but there doesn't look like there is as much room for the large steel ring as I do. Did you go to a narrower hub?

it is just good measure. it is not for any flexing issues but more for any type of fall onto a single wheel. i those cases there is alot of force being applied to theos upper link areas and the braces just help tie it all together"thumbsup"

correct, 475's.

i have a. 300 and 2 .100's ( two .300's just barely wanted to rub against the wheel with the slight amount of bearing play these things have)

i still run a little weight in the wheel as well... the combo really improved the snap of the rig as far as throttle. the geartrain should have a little nicer time with the Brood big wire 35's that are going in her.

every thing else so far has been comparable performance wise.

as far as the braces for the CF... I have 2 delrin braces left over. Those are for the upper link mounts or between the shocks? BTW nice rig ....Am I blind or did you cut off the long part of the skid?

The two extra braces are for between the shocks.

The skid is the full lenghth.

Those new parts look great...I can't wait to check out the rig at ECC...myself and Limited77 will be there rockin our BJV4's! (I'm sure there are more)

Not that you need any advice from me, but don't be afraid to ditch all the wheel weight and add it to the knuckle. I can still totter mine off of turtle with throttle stabs with no wheel weight, and my rig climbs alot better with more knuckle weight.
These XR's are so light overall, it seems to have a pronounced effect when you move the tuning weight around on the rig.

Shell I value your insight and any others as well. Trust me I don't know everything:shock:
I just know what has been working for me.

I really am not worried about the roll over at all. I still think a bit of weight in the wheels suits my style... I really like using the rotating mass to to swing my front end around on some of the really tricky climbs.

Don't get me wrong, I really like what the weights have done for the truck, I think I have found a very happy medium.

After E.C.C. I will have some time to really start playing with them but right now I am gonna go with what I know!

Ya know, I have had so many different vanquish parts and I am still always amazed at the precision and quality each and every part has.

I am really getting excited about E.C.C.
"thumbsup"
It will be my first time there and it will be cool to meet and crawl with some new people

Sick sick truck. Can't wait to swap mine over this weekend. I'll brace the shocks. Do you recommend finding something to brace the uppers too or are the shock braces enough? ....... Back to your regular scheduled programming.....

First off, great build. Its builds like these that keep me coming back to this site.

I'm going to be heading to E.C.C. this year and it will be my first major competition and I can't wait to check out some of these trucks I've only been able to see "virtually" and to meet everyone as well!

Cool, smart way to look at it, especially before a big comp. "thumbsup"
Best of luck at ECC!
And X2 on VP's fit and finish, damn little pieces of art is what they are.

started the rear axle last night and it looks like it was just in time:shock:
not bad though considering these are the ones i started with
IMAG0572.jpg
