krawls XR.....with a dash of y-town please!

How vital is the overall lenght of the shocks for the BJ4 chassis? I have been having the hardest time tuning this thing and am starting to wonder if its due to my Big Bores!! Thay are running about 4 1/8" fully extended It just seems to unload in an unusual way, I have been running it for about 2 1/2 months and am not quite ready to give up. I recently pulled the cab topper and placed a body on top yo assist with my rollovers, I just cant seem to getthis thing to roll back over for me, I even took my steel rings off of my knuckle weights and placed 3 slugs back in my VP wheels to assist with the rollover. I know this thing can work because its been proven!! Any help is greatly appreciated!!

I saw that, i will get to comparing to my stock shocks when i get home. I have the WW caps and i know it makes the shock longer than stock. I just wasnt sure about it since there wasnt anything here about the big bores here. Thanks

Not a problem. The main point being is that we do limit them internally for an over all shorter shock length, and externally to limit travel. Since you have a slightly different shock setup than Krawl and I, you may need to adjust the limiters accordingly.

Do you have any pics of what i can shave off on my lower front case as far as the stock steering. Im now going with chaotic straight tierod end and want to cut offany extra plastic i dont need. My second question is what is the latest chassis i can buy off you. .meaning the top off tbe line one you sell. No price budget.

One more thing if you have time could you check out my axle and see if i built it right. Ill show a pic. I bought the vp brass upgradd not knowing they were for the stock stuff but i used one peice in my axle because i was never sent a bearing for it.

if you are gonna use the revo ends, on the lower front links you will need to slightly shave down the top of the end to keep it moving freely in the axle side mount.

shocks are filled with the supplied 35 wt oil and gold springs

i drilled out some jeepin doug spring cups to fit the larger shaft and limited the shocks

front are limited internaly .25" and externally with .31"

rears ar limited externally only with .5"

can you convert that to inches and what did you use for the external spacers. Are those the jeepin doug cups? What did u use for internal limiter. fuel line or?

Those are in inches, .25"= 1/4", .5"=1/2", etc

They are JID cups for mini t springs

Limiters are off parts tree for sxc shocks. About a 1/8" each. You can also find shock limiters at most hobby shop from associated, they come with three sizes for inbetween settigs.

Well not good at converting i understand the norm .25 and point 75 what would be .31? Three eights? Or just under?

so if you do the vp tranny housing and the vp motor plate you do not need the brass bushing kit correct?
