Learning curve.... Trail, hillclimb, and crawling

Man that looks great. I am kicking myself for giving that WK to my sister for her B-day.

Just went over to the LHS today, seem to be catching up the center of the frame a bit more right now, However I am able to crawl things that I hadnt been able to before the chassis reversing.
To all you other newbies, DO THIS FIRST!!!!!
I am able to make it all the way around the crawling course at Ab CHarles both forward and then going back the other way.
YEEE HAA!
Oh I actually put the M2k's back on and they seemed to give me a better grip on some of the odder surfaces.. go figure...

MAn oh man!! THe comp out at Ohiopyle was awsome!! I was really happy with the way my WK held up and managed most of the obstacles.. I even made it up and over some of the ones that hung up or gave the tlt based rigs trouble, I did have a problem with getting up one of the "step" sections, I kept rolling it over and couldnt get a good bite on the rock....Hopefully Lewis will get some pics up, I stupidly forgot to get my camera out....
Looking forward to the next comp, and or GTG at the Aids run! (a crawling spot in robinson pa)

pics coming soon. tonight i well get started on the vid & pics. had a blast. ur bug did very well :flipoff:. nice job on driving:shock:. tobad u can't come this weekend to york:-(. it should be a blast. i do have room for to more i think. u no car pool.

Beware the Bug body!! Great body to use.. however there is the now noticable downside of turtle shell effect.. somtimes if you dont have the full momentum of a rollover you end up screwed!
Also more importantly I just learned... Scrub in your new tires well before a comp!! And know how they are going to react!! I made the mistake of throwing on the new M3 compound Mashers and trying to compete with them.. Great sticky tires! I just gotta get the foams right, and get them roughed up.. After I switched back t the M2's I trail rode all the rest of the day, but stank on ice during the comp postion of the event....
NEwbie mistakes I guess....

Just got done scuffing in my Masher 2000, M-3 compound tires, and testing my new rear lockouts.... I'll give credit due once I refind the makers info.. He is on the board here.... and involved with one of the Tuber builds.. To say the least they work great! so heres the pics!

ah got it! THe rear lockouts were made by JWCUSTOMWURKS, www.jwcustomwurksrc.com all you have to do is pop off the rear hubs, drop em in and away you go!
I was running my own rod style lockout, but was a bit unhappy with the screw bending qualities the setup I cameup with had.. With the JW units, it further cleans up the rear end and eliminates a bit of clutter.. I'll post up pics soon of just the rear..
Also Kreepykrawler makes some great stuff for the WK as well, Currently I am running his "Lockjaw" Links front and rear.. I highly recomend them! THey come complete with all the hardware, and pretty much eliminate any sort of hangup points that the original link mounts had..

hey ive been trying to figure out how to flip or reverse my frame on the wheely knig someone help me with pictures if not text will work

.... I went out to the hardware store and got a couple more 4-40 screws.. shorter lenght, and a shorter nylon washer...

3mm is the screw size you want...they will be stronger, fit tighter and not bend or strip out as easily....4-40 is smaller. Your shorter nylon washer will make it less likely to bend too.

Hey Natedog I think you were refering to my old rear steer lockouts, I had since upgraded it with JP customwerks derlin lockouts that fit right between the knuckle and hub.. they work a million times better...
Also its been awhile since I have updated my thread here, so here are a few shots of my WK as she stands now, Enjoy!

Its realy a simple process, as far as the flip goes.... Just unbolt the shocks from the axles, (undo the lower mounts at the same time) and move your front axle to the position iof the rear axle, and vice versa, prior to attaching them ROTATE the axles so that their former top is now their bottom, and reattach your hardware.. (doing this will eliminate your need to swap your motor leads) Once you have everything reconnected you can then move to the top of the chassis and swap your body mounts around if you so desire, One thing that I would recommend while doing this is to get yourself an OTA (On the axle) servo mount.. it will also help you out to no end.
Good luck CK17!
