lexan picture glue question

if your refering to the XXXMAIN glue, You can use basically anything printed. If you print it you need to use an ink that will stay set up when wet. XXXMAIN generally refers to using comics or magazine pictures for use. here check this out. Reasons I choose to be a faithful subscriber to Xtreme RC cars magazine

Thanks, think i'll buy some glue and print out a picture and try on some scrap lexan. Will standard inkjet ink work? Not a real big printer guy.

no I bet an inkjet would bleed when you applied the glue. a laser printer would be the only way to print your own i bet.

I say just use the glue and cut the pics from a magazine or kids book. :)

I wish i could just make that glue at home cause I want to do this now, but need to order online cause I cant find anywhere local.

has any one ever made that glue, or try elmers glue? lol
Is there any glue like this XXX glue that you can buy at a local craft store?

thanks

If a laser printer doesnt work (which it should but you never know) talk to a sign shop, the inks they use to print banners are all water proof and uv resistant.

I just printed on to HP everyday matte photo paper...the stuff that is heavier than regular paper but not super thick like photo paper...gluing on went slick as can be....then just a few light coats to begin and finished with a black backer coat...I had great success and no bleeding...XXXMains is the only glue out there...i have tried several of them...believe me this is the only one...

I already had that page bookmarked, but it doesn't show the actual process for applying the glue to the image, so I wasn't sure. A label off a bottle is a lot thinner than a comic cover. I have several bottles, so I guess I should just buy some glue and give it a shot. Worst case scenario is I screw it up and gotta empty a new bottle! :)

Or just go to home depot and buy a piece of lexan for $3.00 and try it. It should work no matter what it is. Its not based on the thickness of the product. its based on the ink embeded into the object. testors makes a spray for decals that if you spray in light thin coats and allow to dry in between coats. any printed object on your printer can be used as well. Its a decal bonder used for ink jet printers. But thats a lable from a beer bottle. i think your safe man. The xxxmain stuff is great and i know the maker personally. best stuff he has ever made.

We used "tacky" glue back years ago before there was any special glues sold out there... worked great, I have a shell over 10yrs old that has been beat down from 1/10 on road racing and the paper is still stuck on there, no issues. We had originally read it in one of the Car magazines from the late 90's. It was pretty popular back then, lots of people did it without problems.

You can find the tacky glue at most any craft shops...
