Liberty bell B-17 destroyed in fire

right down the road from my house... caught a glimpse of her Sunday. I was sickened to here that she went down.

Only good news I have heard is that they think they may be able to use the wreckage to get 2 b17's flying.

If you have a spare 54 minutes, watch this video about a B-29 found intact in Greenland:

Is that the one where the one guy gets so sick, he dies? and the plane gets finished but catches fire on take off? I've seen parts of that a long time ago.

Sad...

Sad. $350K down the shitter. The Navigator said it best.

I'm not fond of them bringing her back, kinda like reentering an Indian burial site. I think she should stay there.

Damn man, kinda had a feeling that was gonna happen. The pay off would have been awesome, 1.3million and bragging rights.

That really sticks, but it is cool that they will be able to use the parts to get two more flying.

After the war, a German pilot said "...attacking a B-17 was like trying to make love to a porcupine..."
